Hello Walsh Families,

Today, first trimester progress reports were sent home with students. Please look them over and reach out to your child's teacher with any questions or concerns.

The weather is getting cooler! Please send a sweatshirt or jacket with your child daily. Soon our PFC will be sending out an order form for Walsh shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts. Look for it soon.

Each month, our PBIS Team will look at attendance data and determine which class has the best attendance for the month. We not only look at days students are here, but also want students to arrive on time and not be tardy.

This month's winners are Mrs. Walker's 2nd grade class. Although they did not have the highest percentage of students at school daily, they had a low number of tardies. They received a special treat, a certificate to hang outside of their classroom for the month of October, and a traveling trophy to keep in their classroom. Congratulations!!

We will announce our next attendance winners on November 1st.

At the end of each month, teachers will select a "Student of the Month" in their classroom. This student demonstrates "SOAR" -- "Safety Matters.... Offer Kindness.... Act Responsibly....Respect Others".

Students of the Month will be recognized in front of the whole school, get a cool tshirt and certificate, get their picture on our bulletin board, and will be honored in the newsletter.

Congratulations to our September winners for "SOARING"!!!

Mrs. Campagna's class is working hard earning PBIS points by being safe, kind, responsible, and respectful. As a class so far they have earned 750 points and just earned Disney Day! Way to go!

Throughout the month of October SEL lessons will be aligned to our current ELA curriculum, Benchmark, at each grade level.

Help prevent the spread of germs

-Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds

-Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze

- Don't touch your eyes, nose or mouth; these are the areas where a virus can enter the body

-Avoid close contact with those who are sick

-Stay home if you are sick

No medication is allowed at school without a doctor’s order on file. Please DO NOT send your child to school with cough drops or any other over the counter medications.

We ask that parents do not sent in birthday treats for students to distribute. Please read below, as taken from the 2022-2023 District 104 Handbook:

Treats & Snacks [K-5] 1.80 Due to health concerns and scheduling, no birthday treats are allowed. Treats will be limited to certain school-wide celebrations.

Students WILL be charged fees for damage/loss of technology items.

Fees are:

• Device Sleeve/cover - $10
• Charger - $25
• Touch Screen - $115
• Chromebook Device Replacement Cost - $250/new device; $200/2 years old; $150/3 years old; $100/4 years old (new devices are provided to 1st and 5th grades every year
