Room Parents -- We need YOU!
We are trying to increase the ways for all parents to become involved in the school life of their children. Room parents are volunteers who help coordinate other classroom parents, class activities, special events, and more! Please see the information below, and if you are interested, complete the sign up form on paper or online.
Parent Portal
Parent Portal is a free program available to all CISD parent/guardians that allows viewing of helpful information regarding student attendance, report cards, progress reports, daily grades, state test results, Students Achieving Excellence (SAE), discipline, available lunch money, and other district resources. Parents may also sign up to receive an email alert when an assignment score is inputted or updated using the Parent Access icon in the Parent Portal. Parents/Guardians wishing to access this service must have a valid email address.
**If you cannot sign up because your email has changed, don't worry! Just contact the front office and we will update your contact information.
PTO Donations for Fall Festival
It's time to get ready for our annual Fall Festival and Auction. We are working on collecting items for our auction for the next few weeks.
This week we are collecting items for a FAMILY FUN/GAME NIGHT basket.
Attached is a list of example items.
The class that collects the most items for the basket will receive a POPCORN PARTY.
Please send donations no later than Friday September 6th, 2024.

Dismissal Changes Starting Sept. 3rd!
- Email austin@conroeisd.net
- Include your child's name and grade level
- Attach a picture of your driver's license or ID to verify your identity
- Changes must be made before 2PM on the day of the change
Get in the habit now! We will accept email, notes, and phoned in changes until August 30th. Starting September 3rd, all changes must be emailed to austin@conroeisd.net.

Notice of a Public Meeting of the Campus Level Planning and Decision Making Committee for Austin Elem.
As required by Texas Education Code ยง11.253 and to ensure that effective planning and site-based decision-making occur at our campus and support the improvement of student performance, we invite you a public meeting of our Campus-Level Planning & Decision-Making Committee. The meeting will be held
September 5th at 3:30PM
Austin Elementary, 14796 Highway 105 E, PLC Room
At this meeting, we will discuss the performance of our campus (including our annual campus rating from the Texas Education Agency) and our Campus Improvement Plan.

Breakfast and Lunch Information
Visitors
We have limited space available for parents at lunchtimes. A Lunch Visitor sign up link is below for you to schedule lunch with your students. We ask that you limit your visits to no more than twice a week so other parents have the opportunity to schedule times with their students.
What's for lunch?
Did you know there's an app for that? The MealViewer app allows parents and students to see the lunch menu for the day, week, or month. It includes pictures, nutrition information, and even information on allergens all from your computer, tablet, or phone. You can also find more information about school meals at Austin by visiting the Conroe ISD Child Nutrition Website.
Don't forget! You must complete an application every year if your child receives Free or Reduced meals.
Eating breakfast at school? Students must be in the cafeteria by 7:45AM.
New Charging Policy- Very Important!
Child Nutrition offers meal service for breakfast and lunch to the children of Conroe ISD from EC-12th grade on a daily basis during the school year. Per CISD Board of Trustees Policy CO (Local), students are allowed 15 days (breakfast and lunch) to charge their meals. Once the 15-day charges have expired, the student is no longer allowed to charge.
What does this mean for you? Students will recieve an alternate meal after 15 days of charging. Breakfast is cereal and milk. Lunch is a sandwich and milk. Please complete the online application for free or reduced lunches if you think you will have difficulty paying for meals.
Birthdays
- Store bought treats only.
- When bringing birthday treats, please remember they must be left in the front office. The classroom teacher will distribute them at the end of class.
- If you have questions about what is allowed, please call the front office 936-709-8400.
