Bethany Koenig, Assistant Principal, Steckel Elementary
What are your favorite hobbies?
I am an avid reader and carry a book everywhere I go. I especially love reading outside and enjoy anything that can be done while soaking up the sun. I spend way too much money on concert tickets and swear live music heals the soul. I'm a also a die hard New York Giants fan and allow them to ruin many Sundays for me, all while my husband laughs as he roots for the Eagles.
What do you love about the Whitehall-Coplay School District?
From my first day of student teaching at the middle school with Troy Campbell (Hi Troy!), I loved the welcoming atmosphere and community feel of Whitehall. Throughout my career, so many people have been willing to step up and help me navigate different challenges. The single campus setting is still my favorite thing about working here and I love walking into any building K-12 and seeing familiar faces.
What advice would you give to your 16-year-old self?
Learn to set boundaries sooner than later in all walks of life. Work hard and be nice, too!
Tina Koren, Class of 1979

Who is one staff member that made a lasting impact on you during your time at Whitehall?
All of them. Each had a love for their career and instilled the importance of education to obtain your goals.
