Principal's Minute
Principal's Minute
As we approach the upcoming testing period, December 9-20, we want to emphasize the importance of supporting our students during this time. Testing provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate their growth and understanding, and we want to ensure they are well-prepared and ready to succeed.
To help your child perform their best, we ask for your support in the following areas:
Attendance: Regular attendance is crucial, especially during testing days. Missing a test may result in the need for rescheduling, which can be disruptive. Please ensure your child is present and on time for school on all test days.
Meals: A healthy breakfast helps fuel your child’s brain for the day ahead. We encourage you to provide a nutritious breakfast before school. For students who may need assistance, we also offer breakfast at school.
Sleep: Adequate rest is essential for optimal performance. Please help ensure your child gets a good night’s sleep before test days. A well-rested student will be more focused, alert, and ready to do their best.
We appreciate your support in making this testing season a success for all students. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your continued partnership!

Vote for the 2025-2026 School Calendar
Dear Spring ISD Families, Students, Staff and Community:
Two instructional calendar options have been developed for the 2025-26 school year, and the district is seeking your input before a recommendation is presented to the Board of Trustees.
The two calendar options presented for next school year were reviewed and endorsed by the district’s Advisory Committee on Education (ACE). Here are the highlights:
Calendar Option A
Start date: Aug. 13
Winter Break for students: Feb. 13 through Feb. 17 (3 days) with teacher PD days spread throughout the year.
Parent-Teacher Conference: Feb. 13
Half PD/half work day-no students: Jan 5
Calendar Option B
Start date: Aug. 12
Winter Break for students: Feb. 16 through Feb. 20 (a full week) with teacher PD days spread throughout the year.
Parent-Teacher Conference: Feb. 19
Two intervention days for select students: Feb. 17 and Feb. 18
PD day-no students: Jan 5
Common Features for Both Calendars:
Half PD/half work day on Aug. 5
Last day of school for students on May 29,
Fall Break for teachers and students from Oct. 13 through Oct. 17. (Oct. 13 make up day if needed)
Teacher Workdays: Start Aug. 4 and end on June 2.
Both calendar options include Campus Advisory Committee (CAC) designed days. No students will be in attendance on these days, however staff will engage in campus professional development and high priority campus needs as identified by the Campus Advisory Committee.
High School Early Release: Two additional early release days for high school final exams. This means high schoolers will have one additional day over the required number of minutes. In the event that it is needed, the district will recoup the additional early release days for make-up days. If additional minutes are needed, high school students may be required to make up a day, either during one of the allotted make-up days, or at the end of the year.
Additionally, both calendar options prioritize maximizing student instruction, embed professional development for teachers, and include days during the year for parent-teacher conferences.
The 2025-26 Instructional Calendar Survey is located on the Spring ISD website at www.SpringISD.org/CalendarSurvey. Please review both options closely and select your preferred calendar by Monday, Dec. 2.
The survey results, along with a calendar recommendation, will be presented to the Spring ISD Board of Trustees for their consideration at the work session on Tuesday, Dec. 3. Thank you for taking the time to share your calendar preference with us.

Dismissal Procedures
Dismissal Procedures
Car Rider: We appreciate your cooperation with our car rider procedures. Please remember to stay in your designated lane and avoid changing lanes unless directed by a car rider duty staff member. This helps us keep the line moving smoothly.
Additionally, once your child is in the car, please remove your yellow car rider tag from the dashboard. This signals to us that your child is safely with you and that you're ready to leave. If the tag remains on your dashboard, it indicates that your child hasn't been loaded yet, and we will proceed to bring them to you.
Walker: Walkers will be the first group called on the announcements to the gym at 3:20 pm. Students will be seated in rows by grade. Each grade-level teacher will be responsible for actively monitoring the walkers and ensuring they are on a level zero during dismissal. Walkers will exit the gym using the rear door on the right side leading to the back gate located near the park. The dismissal order is as follows: PreK, Kg, 1st-grade students with verified numbers, sibling sets with verified matching numbers, and 5th, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd-grade students respectively. Lastly, any PreK, Kindergarten, & 1st, grade students who were not called in the first round. The first group of walkers will be released at 3:30 pm. Any remaining students will be sent to the front office for pick-up. After all students are dismissed all teachers will report directly to car rider duty to assist with loading.
Thank you for helping us ensure a safe and efficient dismissal process each day!
