Carver Family Newsletter
March 1st, 2024
From the Principal's Office
Happy March! Welcome to the first month of spring and the last few weeks of winter. We have so many things to look forward to this spring, so please share this newsletter with 3 or more families so that everyone is in the know!
Warmly,
Principal Manning
Parent Teacher Conference (March 4-8)
By now, your child's teacher or Mrs. White should have contacted you and scheduled your parent teacher conference for next week. Here are some tips to make your conference as informative and useful as possible:
-Please arrive at your conference on time, as the teachers have packed schedules for the entire 5 days.
-Share with the teacher any bright spots that you have noticed! The teacher will have plenty to share, too.
-Be prepared to look at your child's Spring STAR data. The teacher will compare their Fall score to their Spring score so that we will see the child's reading growth.
-If there was less growth than you expected, ask your child's teacher for resources to support learning at home.
-Please let your child's teacher know if you would like an activity book for Spring Break. These books cover subjects such as reading, writing, science, and math. You can set a goal for your student to complete a few pages from each subject during the breaks so that their minds are still in learning mode.
Early Dismissal
As a reminder, school will dismiss at 1:40pm each day next week. Beacon services will begin at 1:45. All students not enrolled in Beacon must be picked up by 1:40pm (unless they walk or take the bus to their destination).
Spring Photos!
Please remember that we are offering Spring Photos on March 6, 2024!
Students can wear free-dress for their picture. Cash only and exact change, please, if you decide to purchase photos up front. Otherwise, you can purchase pictures from the website after the proofs are returned.
School Site Summit
During this meeting, we will discuss Carver's budget and resources for the next school year. We will also discuss classroom sizes, electives offered, and our community schools plan!
See you at the Summit!
