It’s a great day at RVA!!!

This week, we celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Week! National Teacher Appreciation Week is a wonderful opportunity to express gratitude for the incredible work teachers do every day. Teachers are the unsung heroes who shape the minds of future generations, ignite curiosity, and inspire lifelong learning. Let's take this moment to celebrate their dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of students. To all the teachers out there, your impact is immeasurable, and your hard work does not go unnoticed. RVA Teachers, thank you for all that you do! Families and scholars are encouraged to share their gratitude with our teachers all week long!!

Also, as a reminder, testing season is underway! If your RVA Owl scholar is scheduled to take an SOL test at Henderson Middle School, please remember to bring your scholar to Door 6 on your designated testing day. Door 6 is located near the bus loop on the right side of the school. Do not report to the main office. Our team will be available at Door 6 to check your scholar in. Check in begins at 9am and closes at 9:30am. Pick up is also at Door 6 and is between 12noon and 12:30pm. Parents will be contacted directly if your child finishes the test early or needs additional time. If you have any questions or concerns, please refer to the previously sent Testing Letters, reach out to your child's teacher, or connect with our site testing coordinators, Mrs. Tiffany Lindfors (tlindfors@rvaschools.net) and Mrs. Melinda Brooks (mbrooks4@rvaschools.net). • May 26 - RPS Closed - Memorial Day
• May 29-RVA Graduation Ceremony at VUU Living & Learning Center (6pm)
• May 30-RVA Moving On Ceremony for 5th & 8th Grade (Details forthcoming)
• May 31- Last Day of School & End of Year Celebration (TBD)
• May 31- Last Day of School for Students and Teachers

Last week's Pop Up OWL market was facilitated by one of our high school seniors, Olivia Cotton!! RVA scholars were able to collect cool prizes and rewards by visiting our Owl Market during the event. Hoot Hoot:)

Richmond Virtual Academy's 4th graders were invited to join in on the activities or competitions organized in RPS's Little Feet Meet again this year! What a joy to see our RVA Owls taking part in this awesome event!

CONGRATULATIONS To RVA Owl NESTer, Ms. Marshe Copeland, and CONGRATULATIONS to the following RVA Owl students: Londyn Salley (Elementary), Amirah Harrell 8th grade ( Middle school), and Marcus Christian 12th grade (High School) for PERFECT ATTENDANCE APRIL 2024!! Hoot Hoot!!

Summer School at RPS is held in person only. Virtual Scholars planning to attend summer school will need to report to the summer school location assigned to their zoned school based on their current address. Summer school letters have been mailed out to all families. Please connect with your child's teacher if you did not receive a summer school letter and wish to have your child signed up.
