How many years have you been teaching?
3 years all at HES
What is your most memorable teaching moment?
While I haven't been teaching for a long time, I would have to say that my most memorable teaching moments are seeing my students have their own "lightbulb" moment with what they are learning. Seeing their eyes light up when they understand what I am teaching and have the confidence in themselves to share their ideas and answers with their classmates.
Who was your favorite teacher growing up?
My favorite teacher growing up was Coach Moore, one of my high school teachers. He always took the time out of his day to connect with me and check in on how I was doing. He always challenged me to be the best version of myself and offered words on encouragement whenever I needed it. He truly made everyone he engaged with loved and cared for even in the business of his day.
Favorite place to shop?
My favorite place to shop would probably be a toss up between Home Goods and Hobby Lobby
Fun fact about yourself?
I have visited Ireland, France, the United Kingdom, Italy and Greece!
Our Busy Classrooms!
Second Grade Greek Food Tasting
In second grade, we’ve been diving into the fascinating world of Ancient Greece! We’ve explored the incredible contributions from Ancient Greece that still influence our lives today, such as democracy, the Olympic Games, and architectural styles like columns. Our class also took a culinary journey, tasting traditional Greek foods like olives, feta cheese, and pita bread. It’s been a delicious and educational way to connect with history and see how the past shapes our present!
The Great Wall of China with Mrs. Moore
In Mrs. Moore's second grade class they have been learning about the Great Wall of China during listening and learning. Students worked together in groups and used marshmallows and toothpicks to create their own great walls of China
Pass the Pumpkin with Miss Matheny
Here is Miss Edgington's first grade singing and playing Pass the Pumpkin in music with Miss Matheny. Those who got "out" had musical instruments to play to add to the singing! It was such a fun environment, all students were engaged, and she reviewed Leadership rules with students!

Mission Statement
Every Ranger, Every Reason, Every Day!
EVERY RANGER. This phrase is meant to include everyone—every student, every staff member, every graduate and every community member. All of us working together.
EVERY REASON. The primary focus of every school system is the academic achievement of all students. Our staff and, by extension, our community take on the challenge of doing even more for our students. We educate the whole child. Whatever the need, whatever the issue, whatever the REASON we are going to work together and do the best we can for each other.
EVERY DAY. Thank you to our HLSD community for making our students a priority every day, and for always pitching in to help one another
