Thank you for another great week! Lots of learning, positive student meetings, and love seeing student art work in the halls!
Vaccinations Records Are Due!
From the Nurse Office:
If you are unsure if your student’s records are up to date or not, please check Skyward. Tdap and Meningococcal are both required at entry to 7th grade.
If you have questions, please visit the 2024-2025 vaccination requirement page here.
If these records are not received by Wednesday, October 16, 2024, your student will be sent home.
Hispanic Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage month has begun! The first day was yesterday, September 15th. Hispanic Heritage Month is a month-long celebration, lasting until October 15th, honoring the heritage, culture and contributions of Hispanic and Latinx communities and people.
This month is important historically because it falls on the independence dates of various Latin American countries. These include Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico and Chile.
Throughout this month we hope to highlight the diverse backgrounds and achievements of Hispanic and Latinx individuals in order to learn, respect and appreciate more deeply. We want to promote unity and cultural understanding within our school community.
Check out some of the books in the IHMS library that come from Hispanic voices and/or have Hispanic characters.
CharacterStrong Week 2
