ROCKLAND HIGH WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
September 20, 2024
UPDATES
It was a great week at RHS with academic challenges happening all over the building. Students were doing presentations in business class, reading and analyzing Fahrenheit 451 in English class, differentiating between constant versus changing velocity in physics, studying unit circles and exact values of trigonometric functions, identifying state symbols when studying Spanish culture, analyzing the growth of the Nation State and the Era of Revolutions in World History, taking photos using handmade cameras in photography class, and many, many other exciting topics across all content areas.
Back to School Night went well on Wednesday, September 18. We were thrilled to have parents come learn about the school and meet their teachers. Thank you to the staff for welcoming families into their classrooms to share course information and class expectations.
We also had our first early release day on Thursday. Students were dismissed at 11:25 and teachers participated in professional development for the afternoon.

FROM THE NURSE
We are seeing lots of sniffles and coughs at school already. It can be hard to tell if your child has a cold or seasonal allergies.
Treat at home with over-the-counter non-drowsy allergy or cold medications according to symptoms.
Remember to keep your child home if they have a fever.
See your pediatrician or urgent care if needed.
Drink plenty of water.
You can always reach out with questions or concerns.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Believe it or not, we are only a little more than a week out from progress reports! The term is flying by. Students should seek extra help after school if they are struggling. Teachers are available and happy to help.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
Respectfully yours,
Cheryl Schipper
