Congrats to Maddy Bach on being named to the MSHVCA All-State team AND being named to the AVCA All-American Honorable Mention Team! To be recognized by coaches state wide and nationally is a great honor. Maddy has worked extremely hard and earned each of these prestigious awards!

Eligibility for MSHSAA athletics & activities
All students must be enrolled in at least 3.0 units of credit to be eligible for MSHSAA sponsored activities.
Eligibility is based on semester grades. Students must earn 3.0 units of credit in a semester to be eligible for the next semester.
Longhorn Boys Swim
The boys swim and dive headed to State with 2 divers qualified and 9 swimmers. The 2 day meet took place on 11/15 and 11/16. At the prelims meet, 7 swimmers participated and competed among the top 32 in each event. This set the boys up well for finals on Saturday. Divers started off finals day with Matt Finlinson placing 8th (on the podium) and Grant Glisson placing 17th. Swimming finals in the afternoon combined with diving, earned them an 8th place overall finish in a very competitive meet. Here are the awards for top 16 finishes:

In the same week that we finished the boys season, we began the girls season. Looking forward to another strong season with them, with 5 new team members!
Longhorn soccer
The boys soccer program had an outstanding year at all 3 levels with a combined program record of 39-14-4. The varsity team had a season for the record books. They posted an incredible record of 17-7, which is the 6th best record in school history. They also scored 73 goals on the season, which is the second most in school history. Their dedication and hardwork earned them 11 shutouts on the season, an 11 game win streak, and third place in the very competitive Red Pool Conference. In the postseason, the varsity team defeated Pacific 8-1 and #3 ranked Webster Groves 1-0 on their way to the district championship game vs. #2 ranked Vianney. Even though their season ended in a 3-1 loss, their success and accomplishments are etched in history!

West High band
The Parkway West band program has had a very busy month of November. On November 14th, the concert and symphonic bands held their fall concert. In addition to the two bands, a large percussion ensemble was also part of the performance. On November 18th the jazz band and jazz choir held their winter concert. Mr. Dustin Shrum from Jefferson College was a guest soloist with the jazz band. The band is excited to have nine students selected for the St. Louis All-Suburban Band this year. Those selected include Cara Purdy (jr-oboe), Baskara Wahana (jr-clarinet), Kate Beck (jr-clarinet), Dominic Perez (sr-alto saxophone), TJ Polack (jr-alto saxophone), Cole Kayira (jr-jazz trumpet), Zac Card (so-tuba), Alene Jia (fr-french horn), and Collin Jackson (fr-percussion).
