NES Eagle Update
Week 13-November 27th-December 1st
Current Events
REMINDERS FOR THE WEEK:
- Please remember to bring an LLI running record or informal running record as well as a work sample for each intervention a student is currently participating in when coming to RtI meetings on Friday. These assessments of student performance help the RtI committee to make informed decisions to help students.
- Please sign up on the workroom door for the Chili Cook Off and Secret Santa. Secret Santa is a fun event to get to know someone else on staff! For the Chili Cook Off, I will provide additional chili so that everyone can eat for a potluck this Friday. If you are not bringing chili, pleas sign up to bring vegetables, desert, chili toppings, etc. Let's see who is the BEST Chlli Cook at NES!
- On the workroom door is a sign-up shop for the Tip Top Holiday shop sponsored by the PTA. The Tip Top Holiday will begin with a preview day on Tuesday, December 5th. Every class should sign up for a preview time just like we do with the book fair. Then, there will be additional days where you can sign up to take your entire class or just send groups of students. I recommend that pre- k-2nd grade sign up for a class time. Please sign up by Wednesday, November 29th. This will allow the PTA to arrange for volunteers for the necessary scheduled times.
- MyOn-As you may know-we NOW have MyOn for access for student use. Mr. Cooper has been working hard to provide the means for students to access MyOn. At this time, the only expectation is for your students to have the opportunity to access books digitally and begin reading books on MyOn. We will use MyOn as an insntructional tool once Mr. Cooper, Ms. Curtis, and Mr. Hammonds have attended professional development. Stay tuned for more information.
- Parent Conference forms are due only to Dr. Haider. Please place a copy of all of your parent conference forms in my mailbox or give to Linda Preston.
Lunchroom Procedures REMINDERS
- Teachers, please remember to record the number of students from your class seated at the lunch table before you leave. If there is not a number recorded, students will not be allowed to go outside. The lunchroom and recess staff use the number on the folder to verify all students are accounted for in your class.
- All teachers need to go to the playground to pick up students. Please do not expect lunch recess staff to send students to you from the playground. The lunch recess monitors have many students to monitor and do not have the time to watch students walking to another location.
- Students may not stay for an extended recess beyond their lunch recess time during the lunch period. There are many students on the playground and this causes a safety issue.
Shout Outs
Shout out to the EAGLES that used a SHOUT OUT and added to the SHOUT OUT board by my office! Thank you for recognizing EAGLES that support each other because that is who we are! #EAGLE FAMILY #NESEAGLES2017
- Shout Out to every person once again who helped assist when the buses were delayed! It was truly a team effort to help our students.-Dr. Haider
- Shout Out to Ms. Kipp for assisting Ms. Oswalt and Dr. Haider on Friday to help a student. You ROCK-Dr. Haider
More Shout Outs to come this week! Keep them coming-it is great to hear all the wonderful ways we SUPPORT each other and EXHIBIT what a great EAGLE family we get to work in every day.
Shout out cards are available by the mailboxes. If you would like to recognize another staff member, you just fill it out and put it in my box to place on the board. Or, you can always email me to include in the weekly update.
