Welcome to the 2023-24 school year! For those of you who are new to Beckman, the Patriot Post is a monthly newsletter that highlights various activities on campus. It will often contain information about upcoming events, student award winners, and various campus happenings. This particular issue contains information specific to the first few days of school. MAke sure you scroll all the way to the bottom fo some dates to look out for.

Just a few reminders to make sure everyone has a smooth first day at Beckman:

1. Please know that there will be TRAFFIC. Anytime you have roughly 3000 people moving in and out of a space, there will be traffic. Please plan to arrive early, make arrangements to carpool, or drop off just off campus so that students can walk.
2. We will be on a regular schedule, NOT a late start schedule. Here is a link to our bell schedules.
3. Zero period WILL meet on the first day of school.
4. Classes will be live in Aeries this weekend. Any updates or changes requested will be processed in the order they are received and will be reflected in Aeries immediately.
5. SMILE! We're excited to get the new year off to a good start!

Today, all student class schedules will be LIVE in Aeries. Parents and students can log in to Aeries and look under "Classes" to find a list of their classes with period order, teachers, and room numbers. Please note that we are not able to accommodate requests for a teacher change or a period order change.

If a student needs to change a course after school starts (level change or elective change), please direct the student to come to the counseling office during break or lunch and we will have staff available to assist.

Our website has been updated and is easier than ever to navigate. Everything you need from bell schedules and teacher contact info to parent resources and counseling updates can be found quickly and easily. A special thank you to our Link Cru leaders for a fabulous welcome to our freshmen this year. Members of the class of 2027 were treated to games, live music, a campus tour, and several team-building activities to make sure their first year at Beckman is a success. Below is a video highlighting many of the activities the students took part in.

Tustin Unified School District is EXTREMELY fortunate to have a partnership with Tustin Toyota who will be sponsoring the Drive for Student Engagement again this year. One lucky TUSD senior with good attendance and engagement will win a new 2024 Toyota Corolla! More details are in the flyer below.

In addition to Toyota's "Drive for Student Engagement," we are excited to continue the "'Go' for Daily Engagement" program sponsored by Data Impressions. One lucky student who models outstanding engagement and attendance will win a brand-new Surface Go (or similar) device. This program is open to ALL grade levels and will be awarded at the completion of the 2023-24 school year.
