That was FAST
Greetings Mustang Faithful,
Welcome to May! Is it really possible that this school year is about to end? It really seems like we just got started together. Along the journey this year our students have been able to find new interests, develop hidden talents, accomplish previously unrealized goals, and have been able to grow as individuals. May marks a number of culminating events including graduation. Our celebration will be held on Saturday, May 10 @ 2:00 PM. The students' last day will be May 21. Until then we have a number of activities and events planned.
There is a grade 6-12 Choir Concert on May 1, and a Star Wars Themed Band Concert on May 6. The School Musical Addams Family will be May 2, 3 and 4. Mrs. Craig is hosting an Art Show the evening of May 2 as well. There will be a Grade 5 transition on May 8, 2025. The Activity and Athletic Awards banquet will be held on May 15. A complete listing of our upcoming activities can be found on our website: www.rcentral.org. Be certain to join us to help celebrate the accomplishments of these talented students. The 2024-2025 school year has been remarkable. It went by so FAST!
We truly believe that investing in the whole person is the key. We are trying to celebrate more often and celebrate more things. This has been intentional in the 2024-25 school year. Raymond Central is a special place. It is our obligation as an educational family to take advantage of every opportunity to show everyone that we are doing great things and that we are going to take our place as an elite school. If we don’t get that information out there for others to see; Facebook, Twitter/X, etc. we are missing great opportunities to help share what we are doing. Moving forward, we will continue to endeavor to define learning experiences that are relevant and tied to the specific needs of our students. As we prepare for the 2025-26 school year, advancing college and career opportunities and growing our students intellectually, emotionally, and academically are paramount. We will continue to offer a top-tier educational experience that readies our students for the world we currently live in.
Enjoy your summer, Mustangs. Next year will be here before you know it. I look forward to helping everyone move forward together, because I truly do believe that we can and are moving mountains. Tell OUR story, Mustangs, and we will continue to write it OUR way. What is your chapter of this story? Is it worth telling? You control the narrative.
Recently, Channel 8 News out of Lincoln reported on our school. During the interview, Mr. Hanson explains why Raymond Central is able to hire and keep quality educators when other schools struggle to do so in a time of a teacher shortage. Mrs. Newman summarizes it very well on why Raymond Central is a special place. Our story is ours to tell. We are doing it very well. Please find: https://www.klkntv.com/the-teacher-shortage-is-real-in-rural-nebraska-but-not-at-raymond-centra
The best kept secret in Nebraska? Not anymore. Thank you, Channel 8 for recognizing us for what we already know and believe; we have a great school that is full of great students, taught by a dedicated and professional staff.
As we wind down this epic school year, I look forward to seeing you in the hallways, in the classrooms, at the events, and out and about. Be Loud! Be Proud! Be Mustangs! If you have questions or need information, feel free to contact the high school office by calling (402) 785-2685. #MustangMentality, #TellOURstory, #Family, # ThatWasFast
