Week 5 Term 1 2025
Dear families,
It is a pleasure to welcome you all back to another exciting year at Dalwallinu District High School.
Thank you to our teachers and staff for their preparation of the school year. They have spent considerable time preparing lessons and setting up their classrooms to create an engaging and supportive space for learning.
This year, we will continue to focus on fostering an environment where every student feels valued and encouraged. Whether it’s through academic challenges, extracurricular activities, or simple everyday interactions, we aim to create a space where students feel confident to ask questions, take risks, and discover new things about themselves and the world around them.
We welcome some new staff to the school in Barbara Pearson (Year 4), Steven Hooson (English), Tanya Jaskiewicz (HASS) and returning is Kath Fry (Year 3).
The start of the year has been a busy one with swimming lesson in weeks 2-4, whole school assembly in week 5, Leadership camp and Faction Swimming Carnival in week 6 and our Side Camp in week 7.
We encourage families to keep up to date on all of the school's news and events on the Dalwallinu DHS Parents and Caregivers Facebook page and on the Audiri app. Please ring our front office on 6661 1500 if you require any assistance. We are only too happy to help.

Who's Who at DDHS?
Meet Our New Staff!
Mr Justin Burt (Principal)
I have been working for the Department of Education for 24 years and taught at Eastern Goldfields, Warnbro, Clarkson, Wanneroo and John Forrest.
I love working with kids, especially keeping them active and moving. Being around kids in my daily work life energises me also.
I have been married to Belinda for 23 years and have 3 sons Harrison (20), Hayden (18), Thomas (13) and our dog Trixie.
If I find time for myself, I like to hike and mountain bike in the Perth hills. I have a pool which gets plenty of use during the warmer months and I also like to attend sporting events and concerts. I enjoy watching my children play sport and like to get involved wherever I can.
Mrs Kath Fry (Yr 3 Teacher)
I am very happy to be back teaching at Dalwallinu District High School having moved back to our farm after 9 years in Perth.
During my time away, I taught in 3 different schools in the Ellenbrook area. I really enjoy teaching Year 3 and Maths is my favourite learning area.
My hobbies include swimming, reading and watching the cricket.
Mrs Barbara Pearson (Yr 4 Teacher)
Hello to the Dalwallinu DHS school community. My name is Barb Pearson and I teach the fabulous Year 4 students.
I have been teaching since 1996, across a variety of school districts in Western Australia, most recently in South Hedland, where I was the HASS Specialist.
My daughter is also attending school here and is Year 11.
My interests out of school include art, music, history and travel and I enjoying watching documentaries. I am delighted to be teaching and living in Dalwallinu and thank the community for the warm welcome I have received.
2025 Faction Swimming Carnival
Please note, there has been a slight change to lunches at the Faction Swimming Carnival.
