LNPD Weekly Newsletter
AISD Learn 'N Playday Preschool Updates for Week of 12/2
LNPD Weekly Updates:
Mrs. Jacy's birthday is being celebrated Monday and Tuesday. 12/9 and 12/10. Her actual birthday is Monday. Please have your child make a homemade card to give to her, so we can shower her with special love!!!🎂🎉
Please send your child with a jacket and a full change of clothes that are all weather appropriate. Please make sure all their coats and clothes are LABELED. Kids at ages 3-4 do not always recognize their own jackets and this makes it helpful for the teachers to get the correct coat to the correct student. (Please click on the image to see the jacket flip video)
Remember to send in PJ's for our Pajama drive and help to supply PJ's for kids that do not have them. Also, please send in your brand new and wrapped books for our Winter party Book Exchange. If your child comes all 5 days, they will need two books to exchange.
Sign up Genius went out today for Winter party help. Please sign up if you are able to contribute to the party fun!
Weekly classroom images are found in the gallery below and on your teacher's websites.
Classroom Themes
3's classes with Mrs. Angie and Mrs. Stephanie were learning all about letters with their Chicka-Chicka Boom week. There were tons of letters in the water table, Chicka-Chicka magna tiles and letter matching Chicka boom trees. They also completed an alphabet puzzle with all 26 letters and practiced writing letters and the number 7 too.
Mrs. Dede and Mrs. Yolanda's class is all about Camping. Wait until you see the awesome lanterns they made in art this week. They also had mini tents and smores at their carpet area. I think the kids loved counting with pretend marshmallows and putting the correct letter on the sleeping bags. They did a great job putting together camping puzzles too and circling "Cc" words found in a camping paragraph.
Mrs. Celesa and Mrs. Cynthia class began their travel Around the World. They started their week making passports in art, so they can begin their travel for the next few weeks. This week they went to China, Mexico and the United States. They had rocket ships and astronauts in the sensory table, bamboo building blocks for Stem building with Panda's from China, and writing long words like United States and Washington D.C. They got to use the McDonald's playdoh set and watch some fun videos of the Chinese Dragon, a rocket launch, and Pandas at the zoo.
Tuition payments
Throughout the school year you are always able to update your status to auto-pay. However, if you choose to pay manually, you can make your payment at anytime in the two week period from the time of invoice, up until the last day of the month without a $25 late fee. Any late payments will receive the late fee and it will be charged automatically on your next months invoice. I try to send several reminders to help you avoid these fees.
Families were sent an invoice on 11/15 via email from Eleyo.
December tuition is due no later than 11/28 by midnight.
January invoices will go out on 12/13 and will be due by 12/28.
December Calendar of Events
Our BLUE December newsletter and calendar went home for this month. Please make sure you are making note of important dates and activities each month. We don't want any of our families missing out on all the stuff going on at Learn 'N Playday!!! If you ever lose yours, I post our monthly newsletter and calendar on our LNPD website. I will send a Newsletter/Calendar home at the beginning of each new month and they will vary in copy paper color.

Illness Reminders:
If sick, your child must be:
1. fever free 24 hours
2. vomit free 24 hours
3. diarrhea free for 24 hours, all before sending them back to school
They also need to be medicine free at school. Giving Tylenol or other fever reducing medicines in the morning can upset their stomachs and also lead to fevers and vomiting later in the day or children falling asleep.
We have had a lot of runny noses and coughing at LNPD and a few kids have had strep and flu. Please be on the lookout for any of these things and keep your children home if they are within that 24 hours of being contagious.
Recess Information
If it is 90-99 actual temperature or heat index, we have a shortened recess time of 10 minutes
It is 100 or above actual temperature or heat index it is INDOOR recess only
35 or below actual or wind child, INDOOR recess only
36-40 degrees its shortened recess and all students must have appropriate jacket and clothing
Air Quality alerts are also shortened recess 10-15 minutesPotty Reminders
Please make sure you have your child use the restroom before leaving your houses in the mornings. Also, please remind your children to tell the teachers when they need to go potty. Some of the accidents we are experiencing is because our students either wait too long to tell someone or they do not inform the teachers that they need to go. (Every LNPD class goes as a class at least 3-4 times per day)
Please have a full change of clothes in your child's backpack. Socks and shoes included and more than one pair of underwear and pants or shorts are always helpful too. Please also make sure your children's clothing items are labeled.
Ongoing 24-25 LNPD Registration....still have 4's openings!
Other Important Information
- Field trips and LNPD activities have begun. All parents must complete a background check prior to participating in any of these activities. This process may take up to two weeks to complete. I have included the link for easy access if you are interested in volunteering. https://www.allenisd.org/page/register-volunteer
- We are not using water fountains this year, so a water bottle is definitely needed. We have a touch free, filtered water bottle station in the LNPD hallway, so we can refill their bottles too.
Make sure to visit our LNPD website to view our monthly calendar and newsletter, find your weekly classroom news and pictures, music songs, links to Eleyo. www.allenisd.org/learnnplayday (4 year old's need to turn in their hearing and vision forms by Dec. 22nd)
