El otoño esta aquí!
30 de septiembre al 4 de octubre
Dear Riverview Families,
October is here and we continue to have some warm temperatures!
October is the month for Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Days! These days are a great way for schools to celebrate and encourage walking and biking to school. Riverview's walk day to school will be Wednesday October 9, for more information read here English / Spanish!
As a reminder this Wednesday is our Chipotle Fundraiser, check out the flyer for more info! Also, there is no school on Thursday October 3rd. This is a Professional Development Day for teachers.
🚌If your student takes the bus, you should have receive information from our Transportation department. It is super important that you review the expectations for the bus with your child. We have started to receive some bus reports where students are not following directions. Take the time and review this video with them. Click on the School Bus & Transportation Safety/Autobuses y Seguridad button below, or click on this link and watch the video. Once you entered the page, click on Español to watch the video in Spanish.
🚨All applicants applying for a volunteer or chaperone position with Saint Paul Public Schools must have a criminal background check successfully completed and reported back by HR to the school/department before they are able to begin providing service within the District.
Saint Paul Public Schools has established a criminal background check procedure for the following reasons:
- The District has a responsibility to protect students and staff from unnecessary risks.
- The District has a responsibility to provide a safe and nurturing environment for students.
- The District has a need to protect the reputation of the institution as a body charged with the care of children.
If you are planning on being a volunteer or a chaperone this school year, please contact Ms. Angelica at 651-293-8665, to get the process started.
It is important to know that if you are planning on being a chaperone you must sign an acknowledgement form with the description of your assignment.
Sincerely,
Ms. Stivaliss

🤔 What are Educational Benefits? ~ Qué son los Beneficios Educacionales? 🤔
Students will receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day under Minnesota's Free School Meals program.
However, it is critical that all families complete an Application for Educational Benefits each school year. Here is the online link to apply
Meals Available at No-Cost for Students 23-24 Year 🍽️ Apply if you have not!
Extended Day Learning (Before School Programming): Our EDL program is scheduled to run Monday through Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 9:15AM, starting October 21st. Due to district wide budget cuts, transportation is not available, so you need to provide your own transportation. In order for Riverview to be able to open EDL we must have at least 25 students in each class AND attending each day. As of right now, here are the classes we are planning to have:
- Thinking patterns K-1
- GTCYS (Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies) 2nd-5th
- Lego League 3rd-5th
- Project Scientist- Open to all grades
Unfortunately we do not have programing for Pre-K.
We are hopeful to recruit some staff to offer some classes AND we are always interested in what our students want. As we learn more, I will communicate this out to everyone!
Nutrition
Students will be provided at no cost breakfast, lunch and snacks! In order to comply with the new regulations, we need to provide healthy snacks at school.
Students can:
- Eat school lunch at no cost
- Bring their own lunch
- Students ARE NOT allowed to share food during lunch time. This is to continue an effort in stopping the spreading of germs and we have several students with allergies. While students have good intentions of sharing, we have to be aware of food sensitivities and allergic reactions.
