The Scandia Scoop #18
December 6, 2024
Dear Scandia Families,
Good afternoon families!
It was a fast and wonderful week here at Scandia Elementary IB World School! I hope you find time to slow down and enjoy all the things this season has to offer.
It is no secret that Scandia Elementary is central to the Scandia community. We have been so blessed to be involved and invited to so many things within our very supportive community! I would like to take a moment to highlight a few examples of how Scandia Elementary and the Scandia community collaborate to enrich our student and community experiences:
- Did you know we have a partnership with the Scandia City Parks and Recreation committee? It is true! Our students provide stories and art work for the Lileskogen Story Walk in the Lileskogen Park. Stop by and check it out! Stories are updated every few weeks.
- We also work with the Marine Country Messenger news paper. Two weeks ago our 1st grade class submitted work and were featured in the paper. This December our 3rd grade classes will be submitting an optional assignment (completed at home) that will be run later this month!
- Did you know that our students submit Vinterfest button ideas to the City of Scandia? Our students designed and submitted button ideas in November. The first, second and third place buttons are pictured below.
- Finally, the PTO has partnered with Ozark Tavern for a fundraiser BINGO this Saturday. See details below.
One of the best things about Scandia is our partnerships. It is a great place to live, work and educate our children!
Once again, be sure to check out our webpage https://sc.flaschools.org/ for easy access to our school calendar, handbooks, resources and any other information you may need this year.

Once again, we had some EXCELLENT student submissions for this year's Vinterfest Button Design contest. Thank you to all of our students who submitted their thoughtful work! One of the many things that makes Scandia Elementary and the City of Scandia shine is our collaboration and investment in each other!
