NVYSL - Weekly Newsletter
September 28, 2023
Introduction:
Good Evening,
This weekend marks the mid-way point in our 2023 Fall season. By now, you should have given your club leadership personnel your thoughts on any mid-season flight adjustments for the Clubs to give NVYSL Grade Directors. Suggestions from the Clubs helps the Grade Directors determine if their vision aligns with the coaches. In the end, it is the Grade Directors decision, but we all have the same goal, a competitive game where kids can have fun.
As a reminder, we do not have any games on Saturday, October 7th due to the holiday (Indigenous Peoples' Day). Week 5 matches are on Saturday, October 14th.
I wish all teams the best of luck this weekend!
Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks!
~
Yours in partnership,
Timothy Shepple
Nashoba Valley Youth Soccer League, Vice-President

Reminders -
- Zero-Tolerance means ZERO TOLERANCE!!
- There are codes of conduct for Coaches, Players, AND spectators. Please make sure everyone is aware of the guidelines.
- Remember to show that we respect and appreciate the game and one another when, win or lose, we end a match with a gracious handshake.
- Most of NVYSL referees are KIDS. Would you want grown adults yelling at your kids? We don't think so! So don't do it to other people's kids.
SRC Hearing Update -
The SRC hosted a hearing for a Coach on Monday, September 25th regarding a match that occurred on September 16th. The hearing and deliberations lasted about 2 hours and in the end, it resulted in a 1 game suspension for the Head Coach.
This Coming Weekend:
Field Updates/Closures
There are currently no reports of any field closures/updates.
Referees
All across NVYSL have risen some referee pool concerns. A lot of our referees are high-schoolers and due to MIAA scheduling games on Saturdays, it decreases the amount of referees we have. Remember to keep in contact with your referee assignor to make sure you have a referee for the match, if not, reach out to your opposing coach, and NVYSL grade director for possible solutions.
Did you know?!
Did you know that all negative sportsmanship reports either get actioned with a hearing or a letter from the league, or if its against the referee, they are actioned by the NVYSL Referee Director?
