The Cardinal track and field team hosted the 2nd Annual B Lohrman Alumni Invite on Tuesday afternoon. This was an amazing event for the Alexandria track and field community It had a “homecoming” feel as we welcomed back many Cardinal track and field alumni, while honoring and recognizing Bev Lohrman-Grossman, the first woman track and field coach in Alexandria and a pioneer for girls athletics in the 1970’s. In addition to honoring the past, we got to have a look into the future of Cardinal track and field with an elementary and middle school 100m dash! The current track and field team took advantage of the great weather and seized the spotlight with their performances! The boys were amazing! Not only did the Cardinal boys win the team event, but they also recorded 82 personal best performances and won 8 of the 17 contested events (we did not run the 4x800 relay).
Again a tremendous thank you to our amazing track and field meet workers! Thank you for making our home track meets an amazing experience for all of our athletes!

B Lohrman Alumni Invitation
On Tuesday, Alexandria hosted the Annual B Lohrman Alumni Invitational. Bev “B” Lohrman-Grossman was the first coach of the Alexandria Girls Track & Field program 51 years ago. For this meet, we invite athletes from B’s first teams from the 1970’s as well as all male and female alumni track and field athletes back, which ends up feeling like a spring homecoming event for so many alumni who have been part of our Alexandria Track & Field family. To make our celebration even more symbolic of the legacy that is threaded throughout our past, present and future, we have a “B Lohrman Youth 100m Dash” where middle and elementary school students race while being cheered on by our 1970’s trailblazers, our recent alumni, our current athletes and an outstanding community in the crowd. It is such a powerful representation of our past, present, and future track family and the culture of excellence that has been created and passed down over generations of athletes.
To make this meet even more exciting, both the boys and girls teams earned 96 points to win the meet and we even saw a school record set in the 4x200m, which will be added to the B Lohrman Record Board! The progress this team has made this season is absolutely remarkable! Overall the girls earned a record number 86 (!!!) personal bests and 20 season bests! We had athletes in every event breaking milestone times/distances and crushing personal goals. Our girls put on an excellent show in front of an enthusiastic and outstanding crowd of alumni, parents, family, teachers, friends, and community members! Thank you to everyone who came!
Overall team scores are as follows:

Once again, we sincerely thank our outstanding teachers, community members, parents, and alumni who helped us run this meet. Without your help, we would not be able to run a top-notch meet and give our athletes a first-class experience. Your support is necessary to make this happen and is so deeply appreciated!
Moving forward the Alexandria Girls Track and Field team is excited to head to True Team State on Friday at Stillwater High School. This is an electric full-team experience for which we are grateful to have once again this season!

St Cloud 11 Alexandria 7
It was a back and forth game for most of the night as St. Cloud took a 5 -1 leading going into the second inning. Jordan Kuhnau hit a 3 run blast after a couple scored runs to tie the game back up at 5 a piece. Same Anderson went deep in the top of the 3rd to put us up by 1. Alexandria - 7, Willmar - 4
In a nail-biter that stretched into extra innings, the Alexandria Cardinals rallied for a dramatic 7-4 victory over the Willmar Cardinals on Wednesday. Willmar struck first, plating a run in the opening frame before adding two more in the fourth. But Alexandria's offense refused to go down quietly. A clutch single by Ava Klimek in the top of the fifth tied the game at 3-3.
A tense pitching duel ensued until the eighth inning, when Alexandria finally seized the lead. Rachael Mohr sparked the rally with a single, and stinging hits from Maari Kvidt and Peyton Goetsch followed. Klimek then delivered the knockout blow, ripping a double that extended Alexandria's advantage to 4 runs. Willmar mounted a threat in their half of the eighth, but Alexandria's defense held firm. Addy Johnson earned the win in the circle for Alexandria.
Varsity Boys Golf
May 14th
A great day at Eagle Creek in Willmar. The team shot -5, 283. Unfortunately, there were a couple groups that accidentally teed off from incorrect tees on one of the holes so we had to DQ two of our boys. School record of -3 is still in tact.
This group is such a treat to coach. They work incredibly hard and it shows. It was unfortunate how it ended yesterday, but the handled it extremely well and will be ready for the CLC championship next week!
Carver Larson had a hole in one on a par 3!
Adapted Bowling State Tournament results
The Cardinals Adapted Bowling Team sent 13 bowlers to compete at the Adapted Bowling State Tournament in Brooklyn Park. The day was full of anticipation and excitement, as we had four first time state tournament bowlers and four bowlers that were bowling in their last state tournament. The day started with the singles competition in which the Cardinals had 6 individuals competing. Defending state champion Shayla Nelson had another strong performance on the big stage as she was able to put together a series of 409 and bring home a 10th place medal. Lizzie Floden was able to “one up” her teammate, as her series of 410 earned her a ninth place medal. Maggie Pfremmer and Montana Hinnenkamp rounded out the ASD girls singles with very respectable scores of 398 and 389. Alexander Billings bowled a series of 387 in ASD boys singles competition and Hannah Johnson finished with a 383 in the CI girls singles competition.
The final event of the day was the team event, and the Cardinals sent 12 bowlers to compete in this event. The team of Zechariah Davidson, Cameron Rodriguez, Logan Englund, and Madison Larson blasted past their season averages on their way to a very impressive score of 1640 earning them a 5th place finish in the CI team competition. Shayla Nelson, Maggie Pfremmer, Alexander Billings, and Britton Nelson caught fire in the ASD team competition and ended up with an outstanding score of 1658 earning a 4th place finish and a mere 8 pins away from a top 3 finish. Montana Hinnenkamp, Lizzie Floden, Aaron Rice, and Kasidy Warburton wrapped up the day with a total team score of 1538. As it goes for every state tournament, it was a bittersweet ending as we watched our four wonderful seniors bowl their last game in a Cardinal uniform. Our seniors provided a combined 17 years of bowling experience, but left us with memories that will last a lifetime. We would like to thank Zechariah Davidson, Montana Hinnenkamp, Cameron Rodriguez and Lizzie Floden for the impact that they had on our program and wish them best of luck in the future!
400 club: Shayla Nelson (2), Lizzie Floden (2), Maggie Pfremmer, Cameron Rodriguez, Zechariah Davidson, Logan Englund, Kasidy Warburton, Madison Larson, Alexander Billings, Britton Nelson
