A Message from the Principal!

Welcome back! We have a quick 15 days until Winter Break and the conclusion of the 1st semester. Let's finish strong!

We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to the generosity of our parents, community members, and students, we collected over 1,800 cans for our annual canned food drive!

Your support is truly heartwarming, and it is a shining example of the power of community. You serve as incredible role models for our students, teaching them the value of giving and kindness. Together we are making a real difference!

This holiday season, the Student Council will be hosting the Giving Tree at HMS! Students can take an ornament from the tree, each one listing an item that’s needed, and bring the item back to school to donate. All items will go to families in Asheville, NC, who were affected by the hurricane earlier this year. Let’s spread some holiday cheer and make a difference. Let’s be good and do good!

Monday, December 2nd - 2 hour delay for students - Faculty Senate

Tuesday, December 3rd - New Student Drop off/Traffic Pattern will begin. NTOUCH will be sent out on December 2nd.

Wednesday, December 4th - Principal Milliman will speak to 8th grade parents about high school scheduling - HMS cafeteria @ 5 pm

Thursday, December 5th - Principal Milliman will speak to 8th grade students about high school scheduling during the school day

Thursday, December 5th - Basketball season begins! Boys play at home vs. Shepherdstown Cardinals - cost is $5. JV game begins at 6 p.m.

Lady Eagles Varsity play at Shepherdstown at 6 p.m. (Shepherdstown does not have a JV team)

Friday, December 6th - HHS Boys Varsity Basketball scrimmage in the afternoon - optional activity - students pay $1 if they want to participate

The Student Council will be selling Candy Cane Grams the week of December 9th - 13th!

For just $2, you can send a candy cane and a special message to a friend!

It’s a sweet way to spread holiday cheer and show someone you care.

Wednesday, December 11th - Handbell/Choir concert @ HHS @ 6 p.m.

Friday, December 13th - James Rumsey/Blue Ridge Field Trip for 8th graders

Friday, December 13th - Paint Night at HMS Cafeteria 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, December 18th - Band Concert @ HHS @ 6 p.m.

Thursday, December 19th - Strings Concert @ HHS @ 6 p.m.

Friday, December 20th - End of the 2nd 9 Weeks/1st semester

December 23rd - January 3rd - No School - Winter Break

Monday, January 6th - Students return to school
