Message from the Principal
Thank you for setting your students up for success during this testing week. I am proud to share that our students worked hard and did their best. All tests are complete except for a few make-up tests.
I would also like to commend our K-2 students for doing a wonderful job staying quiet in the halls while testing was taking place. A big thanks to our staff for being flexible and working hard to ensure all students were successful this week.
Thank you for your continued support.

Progress Reports - Monday, April 21st
Please log in to your Harmony Family Access portal and access your child’s progress report. We are halfway through the fourth nine weeks of the school year. Please ensure that your child has all of their work turned in on time so they can finish the end of the school year on a positive note. This is also a good time to ensure your email, cell phone number, and cell phone provider are up to date. If you have any questions, please let me know.

School Attendance
One of the key things for you to know is that you will need to call in every time your child is out of school. We do worry about the kids when they are not in school. Your child's absence will be marked as unexcused if the office does not receive a call, note, or email. If your child is out sick and visited the doctor, is late, or absent because of an appointment, please send in, email, or fax the doctor's note to the office so that we have the letter on fi le stating when the child can return. Plus, we can mark the absence accordingly. If a doctor's slip is not turned in, these will be marked as Parental Excused absences. Absences caused by family trips, vacations, and special circumstances require the submission of a Pre-arranged Absence Form before the absence. If a pre-arranged absence form is not filled out before the absence, these will be marked as Parental Excuse absences. If you have questions about the policy, please get in touch with me. kleberb@scsc.k12.in.us Cortland phone # 812-522-7483 Cortland Fax # 812-522-6164
Proper Dress Habits - DRESS CODE REMINDER
Proper Dress Habits - Dress Code Reminder
As the weather has changed and gotten a little warmer, please take note of the following dress code guidelines. What may be appropriate for home may not be appropriate for school:
Shoes:
- Flip flops are not allowed.
- Shoes must have an enclosed toe and a strap across the heel.
Shirts:
Bare midsections, tube tops, tank tops, spaghetti straps, baggy or alternative-style dress is not permitted.
Shorts:
- Bicycle shorts or tight-fitting shorts are not allowed.
- To determine appropriate length, students should stand with their arms hanging naturally at their sides. Shorts are considered appropriate if students can touch the hem of their shorts without curling their fingers back toward their wrist.
