A Note From the Principal
First, be sure to find GBR on your favorite social media outlets (Facebook and Instagram)! I would also encourage you to take a look at the new web page for both the Mitchell School District and GBR. Our new webpage allows for a live feed that is updated frequently!
Second, further down the newsletter are notes both on PTA and the Book Fair- both are essential pieces to our success as a school. I would encourage you, if interested, to get involved in our PTA. They do so many wonderful things for both staff and learners and are always looking for new members and exciting ideas. The Book Fair is a staple in reading success both putting books in the hands of learners at your house, and new books in their hands here at school.
Finally, below are some notes on attendance, and what a large part it plays in student success. We want our learners, as GBR Golden Arrows, to be "On Time, On Target," meaning consistent attendance allows for students to have a greater chance at reaching academic targets and goals in their classroom. In short, missing school - in any context - creates a shrinking bullseye for your learner, putting them at a disadvantage.
We are so excited to work with your learners this year and there are many exciting things on the horizon. Let's have a fantastic 2022-23 school year!

Carla Schuldt is also a new para with us as well. She has previous food service work experience at the High School and 30+ years at McDonalds. Carla and her husband have 4 grown children who have all attended Mitchell Schools.
Notes from the Nurse
We are very low on smaller sizes. If we are unable to provide your child with a change of clothes we will need to call you to bring clothing for them to change into.
If you notice your child is wearing something different at the end of the school day then the nurse's office provided he/she with a fresh set of clothes. Please launder these clothing items and return the to the school office so we have them for the next child who may need them.
Thank you!
Also, if you have a student who will need to take medications of any type during the day(s) please do not send the medication into the school with the student. All medication needs to be in a prescription bottle or an over the counter bottle and a medication permission slip needs to be completed.

County Fair offers a way for us to raise funds for GBR PTA! The program is called Cards for Cash and it utilizes County Fair’s United Savers cards and stamps. County Fair will pay GBR PTA $0.55 for every FILLED card that does NOT say Gas Only on it. Simply turn the card into the school!
What Do I Do if i need to pick up my child early from school or for an appointment?
If your child will be leaving early for an appointment, please call the office and we will assist with sending your child to you at the front door outside on the sidewalk. If you are bringing your child from the appointment to school, please use the buzz in system at the front door to inform the secretaries your child is here. Then, only the child will come into the office. Please ask your physician to share a doctor's note with the school for the medical absence.
