SPLASH BULLETIN!
START OF MONTH-LONG UNITED WAY STUDENT CAMPAIGN
Throughout October, we invite students to contribute $1 to the United Way to participate in different fun events. For example, this week, pairs / trios can come to school dressed as twins / triplets on Wednesday, and students can wear jeans to school on Friday.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
LET'S GET YOUR CHILD A COMPUTER!
This notice applies to all the children in the school, Pre-K through 8.
Before we can issue your child a laptop for the 2024-25 school year, we need you to please
1) purchase $27 insurance in case the computer gets damaged
2) give us permission to entrust your child with a laptop.
You need to fill in two very simple online forms.
Before you begin, make sure you know your child's school I.D. number. (The online forms only accept 7-digit IDs. If your child has a 6-digit ID, no problem: just add a 0 to the front of the number.)
LAPTOPS - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Should everybody get laptop insurance?
Yes. Please purchase $27 Dell / HP insurance.
Can I talk to someone if I need help purchasing insurance online?
You can call the insurance company, Securranty, at 832-304-2015.
Securranty says they have Spanish speakers available to help.
When do you distribute laptops?
We are currently distributing laptops to middle schoolers with insurance.
What about elementary school students?
Elementary students' laptops will be housed in carts in the classroom.
Elementary students may take laptops home to help with homework at their parents' request.
However, parents must guarantee that children will bring laptops back for classwork the following day.
Elementary students who take their laptops home may borrow a laptop charger. If lost, they will be asked to pay a $10 replacement fee.
What happens if I do not purchase insurance?
Your child will be assessed a Technology Fee of $20 for the school year. This does NOT cover insurance!
Any loss / damage will result in a financial obligation placed on the students account, which will inhibit their receipt of a High School certificate.
How much does laptop loss / repair cost?
Without insurance, these could cost hundreds of dollars. With $27 insurance, they cost nothing.
Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30 am- 9 am at 14 th Street and Drexel
