Long Elementary School
A Note From Dr. Phillips and Dr. Koppel
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for Families in Block Days! It was wonderful to see so many of you engaging with your children and our school community. Your participation truly made the event a success.
We’re also thrilled to share that our Book Fair was a huge hit! Thank you for supporting literacy and helping us foster a love of reading among our students.
Looking ahead, we have just two days of school next week. As the temperatures drop, please remember to dress your child for the weather—we’ll have outdoor recess unless the windchill is below 20°F. And don’t forget to label those winter coats to help us return any that lose their owner.

CAPP Presentation
From January 13-17, we will be having our annual CAPP (Child Abuse Prevention Program) lessons. Presenters will be here from the Jewish Family Services to teach safe and non-threatening lessons to students about body safety, the warning signs of child abuse and safe internet skills, using developmentally-appropriate and empowering activities. For more information on specific objectives, you can click HERE. There will also be a virtual Parent Education evening on December 9th at 6:30. A link will be sent out closer to the date. You will be given a chance to preview the videos that will be shown and ask the presenter questions. If you wish for your child NOT to participate, there will be an “Opt Out Form” sent home prior to the presentation. District Updates
Understanding Social Emotional Learning Survey Results
This fall, all Lindbergh students in grades 3-5 participated in screening using the Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavior Risk Screener (mySAEBRS). The purpose of this screener is to provide a big-picture measure of the student experience at Lindbergh Schools and identify individual students who may need additional support in the areas of academic, emotional, and social skills.
It is important to note that these surveys provide only a glimpse or snapshot of a student's response on the day the screener was administered. No data point should ever be used as a sole indicator when determining needs for students. Below, please find the interpretation guides:
