Wrapping Up Trimester 2
Hello Edinbrook Families,
As we wrap up Trimester 2, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support. It’s hard to believe how quickly the year is flying by! With spring just around the corner, we’re all looking forward to longer days, warmer weather, and new opportunities for growth.
As we move into Trimester 3, this is a great time to talk with your child about healthy ways to communicate and solve conflicts. Whether it’s with friends, siblings, or classmates, helping kids navigate disagreements with respect and understanding is an important skill that will serve them well in and out of school. Encouraging open conversations, active listening, and problem-solving strategies can make a big difference in their daily interactions.
Here are some simple strategies to talk about at home:
- Use words, not hands – Encourage kids to say how they feel instead of pushing, hitting, or yelling.
- Stop and take a breath – Help them pause before reacting so they don’t make the situation worse.
- Ask for help – Teach kids that if they don’t know how to solve a problem, they can ask a teacher or trusted adult.
- Walk away if needed – If they feel too angry, it’s okay to take a break and come back to the conversation later.
- Think about solutions – Instead of just focusing on the problem, help them come up with ways to fix it together.
We know learning to handle frustration takes practice, and we appreciate your help reinforcing these skills at home. Let’s finish the year strong together!
Sincerely,
Aaron Krueger

Preparing for Spring Weather
As we transition from winter to spring, the weather can be unpredictable—some days still feel like winter, while others bring melting snow, puddles, and lots of mud! While we love seeing kids enjoy the fresh air, we also want to make sure they stay warm, dry, and comfortable throughout the school day.
Important Reminder:
With wet conditions, Nurse Amy has very limited extra clothing for students who get wet during recess. Please remind your child that if they don’t want to sit in wet clothes all day, they should dress appropriately or stay out of wet areas (like puddles and muddy fields).
To keep your child comfortable at recess, please make sure they have:
✅ A warm coat – Mornings are still chilly!
✅ Waterproof boots – Helps keep feet dry in puddles and mud.
✅ Extra socks – In case their feet do get wet.
✅ Gloves or mittens – Cold hands can still be a problem on brisk days.
✅ A hat or hood – Spring winds can be sneaky!
Pro Tip:
Label all outdoor gear with your child’s name—spring jackets, boots, and mittens often go missing!
Thank you for helping our students stay warm, dry, and comfortable as we welcome the new season.
Let’s keep recess fun for everyone! 🌸🌞
Update and Community Input on School-Based Health Center at PCSH
After further review, the school-based health center mentioned as part of Crest View’s repurposing is going to be placed at Park Center Senior High School instead. There are a variety of reasons for this change, including easier access for more scholars and their families and a more district-centralized location.
Why it matters: A school-based health center is a great way for our schools to help with day-to-day needs of our scholars so that the focus can be on classroom learning.
Your feedback is needed to ensure that the services offered are the most fitting for our district community today and in the years ahead. Please take two minutes to share what you and your family would be most interested in utilizing the clinic for via this anonymous Google Form.
Partnership is making this possible: Our school district was awarded a grant to plan from the Minnesota Department of Health. These dollars will cover start up costs and exploration of the scope of services.
What is expected in the months ahead: The thoughts you share in the Google Form will help our district health team and community partner, Park Nicollet/Health Partners, with next steps. Expect to see the clinic up and running, ready to serve any community member in the Osseo Area Schools attendance area, by fall 2026. Stay tuned to district279.org for the latest on the process.

EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS FORM
IF YOU HAVEN'T PLEASE FILL OUT THIS FORM!
Families are strongly encouraged to complete the Educational Benefits form. Families who qualify may access free or reduced prices for iPad and Chromebook repair and replacement, band/orchestra instruments (5th grade), home electricity bills through Excel Energy, and home internet from some providers, and other benefits.
In addition, schools receives additional funding based on the number of students who qualify for Educational Benefits. Edinbrook receives a significant amount of money that is used to hire additional teachers and ESPs to support students. Filling out this form will help to ensure Edinbrook can continue to provide that additional support to students, while keeping lower class sizes.
MEAL COST AND ACCOUNT INFORMATION
One breakfast and one lunch per day are free for all students in Minnesota.
If students bring a lunch from home and wish to have school milk, they must purchase one for 50 cents using their SmartSchoolK12 lunch account. Once you’ve created this account, you can log in and add money to your child’s meal account. Balances are shared by all students in a household.
