Cranes gROWing Together!
A Note from your Administrators
In March we had so many exciting things happening on and off campus!
On March 19, we held the Sunshine State celebration for those students that read and passed 11 quizzes. We had so much fun playing BINGO together!
On March 20, we had our Day of Awesomeness! The entire school enjoyed inflatables, obstacle courses, dance parties, and so much more. Special thankgs to our PTA for leading this fundraiser and arranging for this special event!
Our fifth graders took a field trip to Jonh Long Middle School to learn about their experiences for the fall. We are so thankful for this community partnership!
Then, we all rested with family and friends over Spring Break.
April brings us Kindergarten registration day, our Fine Arts Night, and the launch of end of the year testing.
If either of us can ever be of any assistance to your child or family, please reach out to us.

National Assitant Principals Week
National Assistant Principals Week, April 1–5, 2024, is a celebration of the unsung heroes in our education system. These dedicated folks work tirelessly to bolster teachers, motivate students, support their principal, create a positive learning community, and face the many unpredictable challenges that land on their desk.
Assistant Principals play a crucial role, and this week is a dedicated time to recognize them for their hard work and commitment to our schools, students, and profession. We are so thankful for Mrs. Grimsley and all that she does for our Sand Pine community!

Safety Concerns
Families, we really need your help with a few items to assist us in keeping all students and staff members safe.
First, it is vitally important that all vehicles travel at 15 mph in the school zone. This incudes after you drop off or pick up your child and turn onto County Line Road.
Also, we have noticed many cars parked at the entrances to each village in the community waiting for their child to be dismissed. Parking in the right of way is a ticket-able offense. If you are in a vehicle waiting for a child(ren) at the entrances to each village, please come through the car line. With some of the new procedures we have in place this year, the car line moves very expeditiously.
Please put your car in park as you are dropping off and picking up your child in the numbered spaces in the car line. Recently, a staff member was injured and had to seek medical attention because the car moved forward before the door was closed.
Bikers and walkers should not arrive in the morning until 8:55 am, as there is no supervision by Sand Pine staff until that time. Students have been arriving very early, and some unsafe behavior has been occurring. We are concerned about safety along County Line Road. Please shift the arrival time to later and speak with your child about safe choices.
Our number one priority is student and staff safety. Law enforcement has been and will continue to be monitoring these items closely. Thank you!
Absences and Change in Transportation
Absences:
If your child needs to be absent from school, please fill out the form on our SPES website (https://spes.pasco.k12.fl.us/mform/view.php?id=11920%22%20title=%22Report%20an%20Absence%22%3EReport%20an%20Absence%3C/a%3E). This notifies the office directly and allows us to document the absence properly in myStudent. You are still welcome to contact your child's teacher to let them know and ask about student work if you wish.
Changes of Transportation:
If you need to change your child's mode of transportation, the latest you may do so is 2:15 pm. This allows us ample time to let both the teacher and child know of the change. You may change transportation by calling the office at (813) 794-1900 or by using our online form on the school website (https://spes.pasco.k12.fl.us/mform/view.php?id=11075%22%20title=%22Request%20for%20Change%20of%20Dismissal%22%3ERequest%20for%20Change%20of%20Dismissal%3C/a%3E). Please do not send last minute notification to the teacher via email, as all changes in dismissal must come through the front office.
If you need to pick your child up early, the latest you may do so is 3:00 pm, so as not to interfere with dismissal.
On Early Release Day, dismissal begins at 1:30 pm. Please have change of transportation reported by 11:45 am. The latest time you may sign out your child on these days is 1:00 pm.
