Principal's Message
Happy Friday Cougar Families!
We hope you had a safe and fun Halloween. It was great to see so many fun and creative costumes around campus yesterday. My favorite costumes are always the themed costumes that require multiple people coordinating and working together. They help to foster the sense of community and inclusivity that we strive for through our Mission and Vision. I want to thank our ASB and staff for organizing and participating in the classroom “Trick or Treat” event during lunch. There was a lot of great energy throughout the campus and the kids were having a great time.
I want to recognize the efforts of Club Rise in sponsoring the Red Ribbon Week Events. Red Ribbon Week started after the death of Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, who in 1985 was murdered by drug traffickers he was investigating in Mexico. Through Cougar Den our students learned about the science of addiction in a self-paced module called "Operation Prevention." Additionally, our Friday Night Live Club hosted activities on Wednesday during lunch promoting a healthy and drug free lifestyle.
Please support our wonderful Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) by taking a moment to stop by Cane’s this afternoon to grab a bite to eat for yourself and your family. 15% of the net sales will be donated to the SCHS PTO when you present the flyer.
Don’t forget about daylight savings time this weekend. Set your clocks back an hour on Sunday and enjoy an extra hour of sleep!
Have a safe and fun Halloween weekend!
Rah! Rah! Cougars!
