What's Happening in our Class!
Mrs. Caselnova's Weekly Newsletter
Happy Fri-YAY!
I have to say this was a great week with your students! We have started a new norm in the class. You might hear your students reciting their rules to you with hand motions. This has been great with helping them remember what expectations are in class. It's become a fun "repeat" game!
Next week, we will be talking about someone in our lives that is a respectful influence. Someone who uses respectful words and actions all the time! Ms. Goldtrap and I will have the students share who that person is and write a quick blurb about them. If it is possible to get a picture of that person to hang on our bulletin board, that would be great! It can be a family member, a family friend, or even a celebrity who demonstrates respect!
September 15-October 15 is Hispanic Heritage month and we have some great activities planned! The students will be choosing a famous person of Hispanic heritage to research and then will do a creative project about that person.
Bridges Math: We are coming to the last portion of Unit 1. We will begin to use our multiplication and division strategies to help solve other equations.
Recommended Homework: Home Connections pages: 12, 13, 15
EL Reading and ALL Block: We continue to read Love that Dog. We have attempted writing different poems in class. In STEAM, students have transformed some of their poems into wonderful images using AI.
CHIRPS We spend at least thirty minutes every day learning ways to identify and express our emotions. The students are really engaged in the discussions and do a great job sharing during our circle time. This month, our focus is respect.
Specials: Specials this week will be PE.
Friday, September 20th is our Field Day! Please remember to fill out the permission form!
For more information, here is a newsletter with volunteer sign-ups!
Permission slips are also included with this newsletter. Please know: if there is no permission slip for your student, they cannot participate. Please let me know if you need a paper form.
