PENNY WARS UPDATE
We want to take a moment to thank you so much for your amazing participation this week in this year's Penny Wars. Our school community raised $4,351.16 this year. Since September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the funds will go to supporting Candlelighters of Brevard, a local organization that provides emotional and financial support to children and their families while the children are in treatment for cancer. In addition, a portion of this year's proceeds will be used to purchase the Sunshine State books for our Media Center.
Our 1st place winner, celebrating with an ice cream party, is Mrs. Holeman's 2nd grade class. The class coming in 2nd place, celebrating with a popcorn party, is Mrs. Bechtol's 1st grade class. The biggest loser, who will celebrate with a pajama day, is Mrs. Bryant's 4th grade class. This year we are awarding a 2nd place biggest loser for their efforts, Mrs. Reid's 3rd grade class and they will also celebrate with a pajama day. Congratulations!
The whole school did such an awesome job raising funds for a very important cause, so we will celebrate everyone with a school-wide popsicle party. Stay tuned for the date.
We want to extend a very special thank you to our teachers, staff and volunteers for helping promote and support this event. Have a great weekend!

JOG-A-THON
We are excited to streamline the donation process for Jog-A-Thon by using 99Pledges. You and your student will be able to reach out to friends and family electronically by email, Facebook, and other social media platforms instead of going door-to-door, tracking commitments, and handling checks. Additionally, donors can make a contribution to support your participant with a simple and secure online transaction. Look for an email from “Gemini Jog-A-Thon 24/25” for your child's personalized page in early October.
If you do not want to participate in this way please fill out this form by 9/27: https://forms.gle/3vbD7CdMdfUVjEts8

LUNCH WITH YOUR STUDENT
Beginning Monday, August 26th, there will be one day a week that parents can sign up, in advance. Please include your child in the number of people you are signing up. • Parents must be on time for their child’s scheduled lunch time. • Parents must communicate with their child’s teacher that they will be coming to lunch on that day. • Parents must sign in at the front office and will be escorted to Center Court and supervised if they are not a registered volunteer. Registered volunteers do not need to be escorted or supervised during their lunch in Center Court. • Parents may only have lunch with their child. • We strongly suggest that younger siblings stay home as we will have limited seating available. • Please be mindful of time, your child will need to report back to the cafeteria before the end of their lunch period. Parents will sign out in the front office.

Morning Mile is Back!
Please come join us on the south field anytime from 7:15 am until the first bell. The Morning Mile is a special
program at Gemini where students are encouraged to come early and meet their friends to get active before
the school day starts. Morning Mile takes place on the field just south of the school with kids walking or
running laps around the field. Every student at Gemini new and returning is automatically signed up and
Morning Mile is free. Each lap run or walked around the field earns a straw with 5 laps/straws in a mile. 5
miles/25 laps earns a necklace and shoe charm! For 100 miles and up kids will receive a t-shirt, run a victory
lap, and earn recognition on an awards placard. Parents, siblings, and friends are welcome to come participate
with the students. Kids at all levels are encouraged to participate and make fitness a healthy and fun habit!
We hope to see you there!
