SAVE the Date Crocker Class of 2022 Graduation
Wiliam H. Crocker's 8th Grade Graduation will be held on Thursday evening this year! Due to the Performing Arts Center availability, we had to pivot and plan for a Thursday night ceremony. Always determined to see the glass half full, we are excited for an opportunity to try a new tradition! The Crocker Vikings Class of 2022 Graduation will be held from 5:00 pm -6:15 pm on Thursday, June 9, 2022. Doors will open at 4:30 pm. The venue is large enough that we will not need to limit seating.

Grad Night Help Needed!
The Graduation committee is planning an incredible night for our graduates.
It's going to be awesome - they will have so much fun.... but we need some help.

Wednesday, 6/8: anytime between 4-8pm
Thursday, 6/9: 6th & 7th grade parents to help between 5:30 - 7:30pm
Chaperones:
8th grade parents (especially dads!): Thursday, 6/9 after graduation until about 9:30pm

We're planning on having drawings throughout the night. If you'd like to donate a $25 or $50 Amazon Gift Card - that would be fantastic!
If you are able to help in any way, please contact Lynette Caplice at morrislynette@yahoo.com and put GRAD NIGHT in the subject.
From the Crocker Library
On May 18th, Crocker welcomed author Lauren Wolk for a virtual author visit. Ms. Wolk joined us to talk about her new book My Own Lightning, the sequel to Wolf Hollow, which earned her a Newbery Honor. In a happy coincidence, her book Echo Mountain was the winner in Crocker’s Battle of the Books this year. If you would like to order any of Ms. Wolk’s books, please complete this online order form through Hickelbee’s bookstore. The last day to order is May 25th, and books will be delivered to school after Memorial Day weekend. A big thank you to Hickelbee’s in San Jose for supporting schools with great author visits.
Echo Mountain was Crocker's Battle of the Books winner this year, with Daughter of the Deep and Amari and the Night Brothers as the other two titles in the final three. Thank you to our Battle of the Books judges for their thoughtful reading and rich discussions about books. For more information about Crocker’s Battle of the Books, contact Mrs. Gilchrist. Here are our 2022 judges. Students: Valentina, Elizabeth, Brody, Nathan, Kenna, Ariana, Olivia, Emi, Isabella, Shaela, Ethan, Sadie, Mariella and Allison, and our staff judges: Ms. Alich, Ms. Tichy, Mr. Miller, Mrs. Struble, Mrs. Ayer, Ms. Woods, Mrs. Rodriguez, Ms. Frankel, Mr. MacKenzie, Mrs. Grady, Mrs. Brady, Ms. Edwards, Ms. Dumpis, and Mrs. Morganstern.
Summer Reading- Crocker does not have required summer reading, but students are encouraged to find some great books to read on their own during the summer. A list of recommended books will be available at Open House and linked to the Crocker Library website at that time. Additionally, a representative from the public library will be at Crocker the week of 5/23 to talk with all students about their Summer Learning program. Contact Mrs. Gilchrist if you have any questions.

Whether you showed up for the early morning exercise or the pancake breakfast, thank you for joining us! The annual HSF Fun Run was a huge success, and it was amazing to see so many members of our community out running, walking, and volunteering together!!
