As the days get colder, we want to remind families of the importance of sending students to school in weather-appropriate clothing. Please help your child be prepared with pants, jackets, hats, and gloves to ensure they stay warm and comfortable during recess and other outdoor activities. Thank you for your attention to keeping everyone safe and cozy as the temperatures continue to drop!

We also want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made last week’s events so memorable:

• To all the Trunk or Treat volunteers: Thank you for making this event such a success! Your creativity, time, and dedication made the festive celebration fun and special for our students and staff.
• To the Homer Volunteer Fire Department: Thank you for welcoming our students to tour the station. These experiences not only bring joy to our students but also help them learn more about safety and the important work our firefighters do.
• To the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office: Thank you for your presentation during Red Ribbon Week. Your support and engagement with our students make a positive impact, reinforcing the importance of making healthy, safe choices.

We’re grateful for the support and involvement of our community, which makes our school an even better place to learn and grow. Thank you all for being part of our students' lives and education.

We had a blast for our first elementary in enrichment gathering! Kaylyn from PAPIO Missouri River, along with her aquatic friends, taught us all about how aquatic animals live and survive. The enrichment group had a great time and we’re thrilled that we were able to hold some of these animals as well.

Mrs. Schmidt along with her elementary enrichment students had a "chilling" time in Mr. D's room, making ice cream and crushing flowers with liquid nitrogen.

Nebraska SMART, operated by the Nebraska State Colleges, employs teacher education candidates attending Chadron, Peru, and Wayne State Colleges as Tutors to provide free online tutoring services for K-12 students across rural Nebraska.
