All Saints Academy Weekly Update
Welcome Back 2024-2025
The First Day of School is Right Around The Corner!
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The summer months always seem to fly by! In just a few days we will welcome our families back for another fantastic school year. We hope that you were able to spend quality time together making memories with family and friends. Our ASA team has been working hard and we are ready to go!
Some highlights to look forward to…
🍎 Mrs. Lesli DeMarco is our new Kindergarten teacher. She is excited to “loop up” with her prior prekindergarten students and welcome new ASA students to the Kindergarten class. Mrs. DeMarco is prepared to continue sharing her love of learning and creating a comfortable learning environment for our young learners.
🍎 Mrs. Lisa Gomez leads our PreKindergarten program. We are pleased to share that our program is growing and we anticipate adding additional staff allowing for two classrooms full of fun, learning, and friendship.
🍎 New this year is the addition of World Culture instruction. As many of you know, Ms. Torres is a world traveler performing with organizations in countries around the world. Most recently, Ms. Torres traveled with a Juilliard trained organ scholar to the UK to work and to share her love of music. Ms. Torres has taken her talents and designed an exciting new program for our K-8 students. The World Culture program will expose students to cultures, traditions, music, and languages around the world. Student learning will be enhanced by an online application designed to reinforce concepts obtained in the classroom. We are excited to bring this program to ASA and are confident that this experience will enhance student understanding of the world around them and promote the concept of global learners.
🍎 Our faculty and staff meet for professional development, training, and planning on Tuesday, August 27th, Wednesday, August 28th and Thursday, August 29th. The school building will be closed on August 30th and September 2nd. We welcome our students in Grades 1-8 to the first day of school on Tuesday, September 3rd. Aftercare begins for all students on Wednesday, September 4th.
🍎 PreSchool - Kindergarten families will have orientation on Tuesday, September 3rd and will join us for their first day of school on Wednesday, September 4th. More information regarding orientation will be supplied by each teacher via a separate email.
🍎 Miss Debbie performed a deep cleaning and sanitization of our entire building. In addition, a full review of our building security was completed and an additional camera was added to our system.
🍎 We are fully prepared to issue Chromebooks for academic purposes again this school year to all students K-8. Teachers will assign computers and require signed usage contracts. The computer usage agreement is attached below. This form must be returned signed before students are issued a Chromebook. Also, please remember the importance of students arriving at school each day with a fully charged device.
🍎 Each grade has a supply list for the 2024-2025 school year which may be found on the school website under the PARENTS tab or linked in this newsletter.
🍎 Students in K-8 will wear their regular school day uniforms Monday through Wednesday. PE uniforms will be worn on Thursdays and Fridays. A formal uniform shoe is not required and students are permitted to wear conservative sneakers each day. Remember that light up shoes/slides are not permitted. Early Childhood students will wear the PE uniform and sneakers every day. Please refer to the Parent/Student Handbook for specific information regarding the school uniform. We will continue to offer TAG day opportunities throughout the school year understanding that students will adhere to the dress code guidelines.
🍎 As a reminder, all health records must be updated and kept current in order for your child to enter and maintain enrollment. Please contact Mrs. Schermerhorn at jschermerhorn@allsaintspar.org with any concerns and questions. All forms can be found on our school website.
🍎 This year we will once again offer a prepackaged hot lunch program provided by Simply Gourmet for purchase. New for Grades 5-8 - ordering is alacarte with the ability to choose your own options. Please refer to the welcome letter below for ordering instructions.
🍎 This year, we will continue our morning community gathering in the cafeteria for prayer and announcements. This is a special time for us all and sets the tone for a productive day together.
- Morning drop off for K-8 students will begin at 7:15am. Carline will be 7:15 -7:40.
- In the morning, cars may enter through the Baldwin Road entrance near the gymnasium and proceed to the drop off location at the rear of the building. For safety, there will be no passing on the left.
- Afternoon pick up (K-8) will begin with prayers at 2:40pm.
- For afternoon pick up, cars may enter through the Baldwin Road entrance nearest Saint Peter the Apostle Church and form an organized queue in the parking area.
- In both cases, clear signage will be provided. New families will receive a bright family name decal. Please clearly display your family name in the window to expedite the dismissal process. If returning families need a new decal, please let our main office know.
- Early childhood arrival and dismissal procedures will be explained during orientation.
🍎On Wednesday, August 28th, our building will be open between 4:30-6:30 for drop in visitors. We welcome you to come see the classrooms, drop off your supplies, and just say “hi!”. The ice cream truck will be available for purchases and our parent volunteers will have gently loved uniforms available for last minute items at a cost of $5.00 per item.
🍎We are pleased to continue instrumental music instruction for students in grades 1-8 with Perfect Time Music, LLC. This year we will add Kindergarten students to the rotation. Kindergarten students will choose from the piano, guitar, drums, xylophone, or recorder. We’ve scheduled a brief demonstration for our students on Thursday, September 19th. A representative from Perfect Time Music will be available at our Back to School Night. In addition, please find the registration form linked below.
🍎 Please review our calendar published on our school website for important dates. In addition, you may find updated staff contact information and a current edition of the Parent/Student Handbook posted at this time. After reviewing the handbook as a family, please sign the acknowledgement form and submit it to the office.
🍎 Our cell phone policy requires students in grades 6-8 to return the attached cell phone agreement.
As always, we are available to answer any questions that you may have. Please do not hesitate to contact the school office and schedule a time to visit. I pray that you enjoy the last days of summer vacation and look forward to a great year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Leanne Gonzalez
Principal
