Principal's Message

Brrr! It has definitely been feeling like winter outside these last few days! When the weather drops below zero (with or without the windchill), students stay inside for recess. Anytime it is zero or above, we do head outdoors. So it is important to make sure that your child is prepared for the cold weather because we do not allow students to stay inside unless there is a medical excuse.


Our second round of parent-teacher conferences are on February 22 and February 24. You may sign up through Skyward Family Access starting Monday, February 6 at 9:00 am. Click here to access directions on how to sign up for conferences. If you need help with signing up, please contact the office.


As a reminder, any treats brought into the building need to be store-bought. We no longer allow homemade treats to be shared. Additionally, if you want to eat lunch with your child it needs to be prearranged with their teacher and we no longer allow visitors to eat in the lunchroom. Thank you for your help and understanding.

Cafeteria Challenge

Starting February 6, we will be doing a 6-week cafeteria challenge to help correct some bad habits we have gotten into. Each week we will be focusing on two cafeteria expectations. Classroom tables will have an opportunity to earn points each time they successfully follow the expectation.


Here are the expectations we are working on:

Cleaning up after yourselves (weekly focus)

Keeping voice levels at a 2 or lower

Walking in and out of the cafeteria

Staying in your seat

Voice level 0 after the clap

Take only what you can eat

Eat your food--No sharing, no creations

Lost and Found

Our lost and found has gotten out of control! We will have it all sorted on tables during parent-teacher conferences, so that is a great opportunity to sort through what we have and see if anything belongs to your child. At the end of the month, anything that has not been claimed will be donated.

Lexia Core 5 Update

Our students have been doing an amazing job so far! At the beginning of the year, 66% of our students tested below grade level in Lexia. Currently, only 24% are working below grade level! 54% are working at grade level and 22% are working above grade level. We have given out 1,038 books already this year!

School Choice Window December 1-February 8

For those of you who have students here by school choice, you do NOT need to fill out school choice forms each year. However, if you have a 5th-grade student and you are looking to send them to a school that is not their "home" school for middle school, you do need to fill the form out. Also, if you have an incoming 4K or Kindergarten student and Lincoln-Erdman is not your home school you will also need to apply for school choice, even if they have a sibling that already attends here. Gym Shoes

With snow, slush, and salt being our norm now that winter is here, it is important that students have gym shoes that they only wear to gym class (or only are worn indoors). When students wear their everyday shoes to the gym it makes the gym floor extra slippery, which can cause unsafe conditions for our students.


Please double-check that your child has gym shoes at school and that those shoes still fit. If you need help securing gym shoes, please contact the office.
