March 2024
Look at how smart we've become!
The 4th quarter is always a super busy time of year. All of the hard work that has been put in throughout the year by our students and staff gets to be proudly put on display.
State testing runs from April 1-26. All third, fourth, and fifth graders will take the Arizona's Academic Standards Assessment (AASA) testing in reading, writing, and math. Fifth grade will also take the science assessment. School letter grades are determined by the results on theses assessments.
Kindergarten through 3rd grade students will show off their reading skills when they take the DIBELS assessment April 1st-19th. The test measures their knowledge of letter sounds, reading fluency, and comprehension. It is always amazing to see how much our students have grown in their reading skills since the beginning of the school year.
Our teachers will be honored during Teacher Appreciation Week May 6-10. PTO will reach out and let families know how they can help.
The event of the year will take place on Wednesday, May 15, when our students will proudly present their personal research projects at our annual Student Showcase. Last year's projects were amazing and this year's promise to be even better!
Remember that learning doesn't stop during the last quarter. Our students just continue to get smarter and smarter!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Chandler
