Quarter 2 - PRACTICE GOALS

TOP TIPS FOR PRACTICE - NEW PROJECTS

We are starting new projects for all grades - everyone is going to start learning a solo in preparation for our Solo Night on Thursday January 23rd (more info to come). When learning new & challenging things:

1. CHUNK IT - break it up into small parts

2. SLOW IT - give your brain, time, and face muscles time to learn how to work together

3. REPEAT IT- try to get 3 "good" repetitions of something before moving on

6th Grade:

- NEW Warm-Up Packet

- Tradition of Excellence Packet

- Green Lesson Book

7th & 8th Grade:

- Solo (new!)

CH PEP BAND - Now in Session!

ON THURSDAYS AFTER SCHOOL

Pep Band & Band Practice Club *ALL GRADES 6, 7, 8*

Band Practice Club meets on Thursdays after school until 4:40pm (students can take activity bus home). FULL SCHEDULE - HERE

At this club we will play for home basketball games whenever they are Thursdays, provide a chance to for older students to mentor younger students, and have a fun and relaxed environment to practice and have fun.

SP Middle School & High School "MEGA PEP BAND" Friday December 13

All Sun Prairie Band students are invited to be a part of the largest pep band on Friday December 13th. Students will stay after school, rehearse, eat pizza dinner, and then play at a SP East Basketball Game. SIGN UP BY NOVEMBER 25:

SUN PRAIRIE HONOR BAND 2024

Congratulations to the Central Heights Members of the 2024 Sun Prairie Honor Band! These students prepared an audition and were selected from over 120 students in southern Wisconsin. They prepared the music ahead of time and prepared a concert with only 5 hours of rehearsal - they did GREAT!

SHIRT & INSTRUMENT FEES - INFINITE CAMPUS

Instrument Rental Fees

Students using a school-owned instrument should now see a $50 yearly fee in their Infinite Campus account.

*Percussion fee is $25/year

6th Grade - Shirt Fee

All new students to music (Band, Choir, & Orchestra) will see a $22 shirt fee in Infinite Campus.
These shirts are our uniforms for all music classes for concerts (required)
Once students outgrow their shirt, they can trade it in for a larger size
