The Hughston Robotics Rules team won 3rd place for their Innovation Project at the First Lego League qualifier this past weekend! They worked so hard and we are so proud of them! Way to go!

It’s time for the 2nd Annual Fun Friday Fruit and Veggie BINGO!!!

Every Friday in February Nurse Jen will circulate in the lunchroom and sign-off on the fruits and veggies, pictured on your BINGO card, that are actively being eaten. The fruits and veggies may be brought from home or purchased in the cafeteria. The first 2 students in each grade level that earn a “black-out” BINGO card will earn a special prize at the end of the month.

Nurse Jen will begin passing out BINGO cards the first week in February. Please keep your cards IN SCHOOL and bring them each Friday in February to lunch. Good Luck!

The 2023-2024 Federal Report Card for Hughston has now been released, and posted to the Hughston website here. The report provides information concerning student performance on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR), as well as information on student enrollment, class size averages, and financial expenditures. The information contained in the School Report Card is described in the “School Report Card Definitions.” The Federal Report Card is also available at https://tea.texas.gov/texas-schools/accountability/academic-accountability/performance-reporting/federal-report-cards. If you have any questions concerning the School Report Cards, please let us know.

There are several opportunities to volunteer as a Watch Dog this spring! Both full day and half day opportunities are available. Please visit Voly to sign up to volunteer!

If you would like to volunteer in the workroom to help make copies, laminate, prepare classroom materials, etc please login to your Voly account and sign up under "My Opportunities".

Tickets to the biggest fundraiser of the year are still on sale! Please join us in raising money for our school by attending the Hughston PTA Mustang Masquerade Auction on February 15, 2025. You won't want to miss our Live Auction Items.

Enjoy dinner out at BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse on Thursday, February 6th. Be sure to present the Spirit Night flyer with barcode to have a portion of the sales donated back to the Hughston PTA.

What is Head Start? Head Start is a federally funded child development program for 3 and 4 year olds designed to provide comprehensive services (education, dental, medical) to preschool children from low-income families. Applications for the 2025-2026 school year are available January 27, 2025.
