Some thoughts for the starting school year

Hi Everyone,

We hope you are enjoying the week. It is definitely starting to feel more like fall out there (even winter this morning). This afternoon we will have our first round of parent-teacher conferences. All conferences are in-person unless you as a parent have reached out to the teacher specifically requesting a virtual session.

Students in Mr. Rosenberg's Podcasting class had a guest speaker this week. Troy Farkas hosts "Seacoast Stories" and he shared his experiences with the class. If you click on the photo you can even listen to Mr. Rosenberg's interview from August 24.

Are you interested in supporting Project Graduation? We are really fortunate to have YORKWISE as a sponsor for our chem-free post graduation night, but they need your help with fundraising. If you would like more information about how you can support, please reach out to our YHS representative, Grecia Caraballo.

Bus safety week is next week! As part of bus safety, all students (K-12) are required to practice a bus evacuation (even if they don't regularly take a bus). We will be having our annual bus evacuation on Wednesday, October 23. Classroom teachers have more information if students have questions regarding the process.

York High School is proud to announce our annual Veterans Day event, a tradition that brings our staff and students together to show appreciation and gratitude to the brave men and women who have served our country. On the morning of Friday, November 8th, we will be hosting a school-wide assembly followed by a special breakfast for the veterans who join us.

To make this event even more meaningful, we will be creating a slideshow featuring photos of the veterans in our lives. We kindly request your assistance in making this a success by sending pictures of your veterans to gcaraballo@yorkschools.org. With your help, we can create a memorable tribute to the heroes who have dedicated their lives to serving our nation.

Thank you in advance for your support and participation in honoring our veterans the way they truly deserve.
