Orange Shirt Day Edition
Principal Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This has been an exciting week at Wildwood School. On Tuesday our Junior Kindergarten program started and the first meeting of our newly formed school council was held after school, see the message from our new PAC chair below. Thursday the GYPSD Buddy Bus came to our school to talk about school bus safety. Throughout the week our students have been learning about Orange Shirt Day, and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, in recognition of that day we will be closed on Monday Sept 30th.
We have several new clubs starting up over the next two weeks with Chimes, Choir and Basketball all beginning, please see posters below for grades and times. These are great clubs that our dedicate teachers take time to put on and are greatly appreciated.
A few quick reminders,
- If dropping off students please park along 54 Ave or in front of the maintenance shop, please do not drop off along the main road.
- Also please watch your speed passing by the schools, student movements can be unpredictable.
- If your student rides a bike to school please remind them that they should walk it across the crosswalks and to the bike rack.
If you have any questions or concerns you can always reach out to the school through the office or email me at alanstoy@gypsd.ca
Sincerely,
Alan Stoyles
Principal
Message from PAC
On September 24 we had our first PAC meeting of the year. It was a great success! It was fantastic to see so many parents/guardians in attendance. With that being said we elected new executive members, Alyse Swinkels as Chair, Carla Gylander as Vice Chair and Louise Cacka as secretary. We have already begun brainstorming ideas for hot lunch and many other exciting things for the kids. Our next PAC meeting is scheduled for October 8 @ 3:45pm. We hope to see you there!
