MST Weekly Update
March 8, 2024
Good afternoon to all of our MST family members.
Students returned to school this week well rested after a week off for February vacation. We are now half way through the 3rd quarter of the school year. From this point on, the school year does go by very quickly. All students should be making sure that they are on track, or working to get back on track, to complete all course by June 14th (the last day of school).
As you will see below, we kicked off the American Heart Challenge this week. Hannaford's is once again giving back to schools when you purchase certain items. Students in manufacturing and criminal justice have been very busy.
Have a good weekend and don't forget to move your clocks forward one hour before you go to bed Saturday night.
Criminal Justice Crime Scene Investigation
Students in the Criminal Justice program were assessed on crime scene technology while analyzing bloodstains. This lesson was one of many that will prepare them for a full day mock disaster event which will be held later this year. Great job students!! Thank you to Mr. Lawlor for letting the investigators use his Residential Carpentry Lab.
Manufacturing Class Projects
Recently, students in the Manufacturing program used their skills in Solid Works CAD design, plasma cutting, welding, sanding and painting to create several different products. Shown in pictures are some MST bookends made for a teacher, signs that will be used at the SEE Science Center on their interactive workstations, and some Jeep items for an upcoming charity fundraiser.
Hannaford Helps Schools
Once again this year, we are participating in Hannaford Helps Schools program!
Through this program, shoppers can earn 3 School Dollars for every 4 participating products purchased. At checkout, customers will receive a School Dollar printout they can use to donate to any school in this program.
To redeem School Dollars, all shoppers need to do is enter the unique printout code and store number on the Hannaford Helps Schools program website and select their school. School Dollars can also be evenly distributed among all participating schools by depositing printouts in the in-store collection tower.
If you shop at Hannaford, be on the lookout for products that qualify for the Hannaford Helps Schools rewards. Se below for additional information.
Destination College
Granite Edvance is sponsoring an exciting event for high school juniors to kickstart their college planning journey. Students will be able to explore financial aid options, learn about the latest information regarding the 2025 admissions cycle and talk to prospective colleges. Please consider attending Destination College on April 6th from 12:00pm-5:00pm at St Anselm College.
American Heart Challenge Has Begun!
On Wednesday March 6th, we held an assembly for our 9th grade students to kick off The American Heart Association’s American Heart Challenge.
By participating in the American Heart Challenge students can raise awareness and funds for congenital heart defects, mental well-being, nutrition security, CPR training and more as we work to end heart disease and stroke. Along the way students will meet some of the kids they’re helping while learning about mind and body health. MST has set a goal to raise $750 for the American Heart Association. Please register today, under our school, at http://www2.heart.org/goto/ManchesterSchoolofTechHS.
Once you've registered, complete Finn’s Mission! As a family you can help to create a community of lifesavers by learning the lifesaving steps of Hands-Only CPR. It’s quick, easy, and fun! Learn more about Finn and his special challenge HERE.
