Welcome Back to School 2024-2025

Tuesday, August 6th - the Doyle Kindergarten Team would like to meet your student(s) and have them take their initial Kindergarten readiness assessment on Tuesday, August 6th.

• 9:00 - 9:30 Last Name A - F
• 9:30 - 10:00 Last Name G - M
• 10:30 - 11:00 Last Name N - S
• 11:00 - 11:30 Last Name T - Z

The assessment will take approximately 15 minutes.

Doyle PTA is looking for volunteers to help prepare and pack the student red folders for the 2024-2025 school year at Doyle Elementary on Thursday, August 8th from 9:00 - 11:00 am. Sign up HERE

Red folders are used on a daily basis to send important paperwork home such as permission slips, homework and other announcements.

UTK Orientation: Friday, August 9th at 10:00 am

Kindergarten Orientation: Friday, August 9th at 1:00 pm

You will...

• Meet your child’s teacher
• Receive information on what your child will need for the first day
• of school and school year.
• Meet other families in your class.

A Doyle PTA hosted play date will immediately follow at the Doyle Park. Come play with your classmates and have a treat!

Class Placements will be available on the Parent Portal on Friday August 9th at 4:00 pm.

If you do not have a Parent Portal account and/or need assistance accessing your account, please email doylelm@sandi.net before August 9th at 2:30 pm.

If you are unable to reach us before August 9th, find a staff member with a clipboard on the first day of school.

The first day of school is a minimum day for all students

UTK Dismissal is at 11:45 am

K-5 Dismissal is at 12:00 pm

Attendance is important everyday, but especially important the first 10 days of school.

Students who have not attended school by August 26th, 2024 are automatically disenrolled from Doyle by the San Diego Unified School District.

Choice Students (not within Doyle boundaries, attending Doyle via the Choice Program):

• If no attendance is recorded by August 26th, choiced students will need to plan on attending their assigned neighborhood school for the 24-25 school year and will only be able to re-submit the Choice application for the 25-26 school year.

Students who live within the Doyle boundaries:

• If no attendance is recorded by August 26th, you will need to re-enroll with us by filling out the SDUSD 24-25 PreK-Grade 12 Enrollment Form. Please note, you will need to re-submit an updated proof of residency (utility bill, lease agreement, or mortgage statement) that is dated within the last 30 days.

This is an SDUSD policy and the office staff of Doyle Elementary school are unable to make any exceptions. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Parents will need access to the Parent Portal to access important information throughout the school year. To get your access ID and access password, email the school at doylelm@sandi.net

First Time Access: Create an Account

1. In your web browser, go to https://powerschool.sandi.net

2. Click Create Account tab

3. Click Create Account

4. Enter Your Name and Email. Add a Username and Password for your account. *Please remember this information. You will use this to sign in.

5. Enter Student Name and Access ID and Access Password exactly as they appear in your letter that your receive from the office. From the dropdown select Relationship.

Sign in to Your Account:

1. After you create an account, go to https://powerschool.sandi.net

2. Enter your Username and Password and click Sign In

You are now able to see all available information for your student.

Sticky Fingers Cooking incorporates S.T.E.A.M., culture, language, geography, and history in their instruction.

Parents can sign up students in grades 1-5 to attend on Thursday's after school.

After School Basketball is back! Coaches will teach students the basics of basketball on Tuesdays after school. Players receive a 549 Sports t-shirt!

Attendance is important! We strongly encourage all vacations and appointments to be scheduled around school days/times. However, we understand...life happens!

If your student is going to be absent, please inform the front office using one of the below methods:

• Doyle Elementary Attendance Reporting form : this can be found on our school website - just scroll down on the homepage and click "Report an Absence"
