SENIOR TO-DO LIST!
1. If you haven't already ordered your cap and gown, it's time to do so. Click on Josten's link below to place your order so that you'll be ready to walk the graduation stage in a few short months!
2. Please remember that you must complete the following requirements for graduation:
- Peace Officer Training
- CPR Training
- Either upload your completed FAFSA proof or opt out of the FAFSA.
Note that even if you opt out, you can still complete the FAFSA if you plan to attend college. Again, all of these are graduation requirements and can be found in Xello.
To locate the CPR and Peace Officer training, go to the "Lessons" section and switch from "Core Lessons" to "All Lessons." You can find the FAFSA upload option under "Assignments." If you choose to opt out of financial aid, you can do that in Skyward, but keep in mind that your counselor will need to sign off on it, so please seek their assistance.
Refer to the screenshots below for guidance on what to look for in Xello.
SCHOOL DAY SAT
Current Juniors Only
The school day SAT is scheduled for March 11th, which will be an early release day for students. Visit the College Board's website for free practice tests by clicking the picture to the right.
Sophomore's will participate in a STAAR EOC bootcamp for English 2 and seniors will participate in a rotation of senior presentations on this day.
STAAR EOC DATES
STAAR EOC dates are April 8 and April 15. The deadline for students to order a sack lunch is March 14, 2025.
90% ATTENDANCE LAW
Texas law requires students to attend at least 90% of class time to get credit. This rule applies to all absences, including excused absences. Students who do not meet the 90% requirement will lose credit in any class where they owe hours. Students who owe hours can make them up in either the 90% rooms before school, after school and on Saturdays, or in tutoring before or after school (they must ask the tutoring teacher to log the hour). See below for the 90% make up opportunities for the Spring semester. Both parents and students are notified if a student owes 90% hours.
GREAT INFO FOR PARENTS!
MINGA POINTS!!!
What is the purpose of earning Minga Points?
For our Sophomores and Juniors, Arena scheduling will begin on March 31st and run through April 15th for students. Rising Seniors will go first, followed by Rising Juniors. Students with the highest Minga points in their grade level will have the opportunity to schedule first, providing them with more flexibility in creating their class schedules.
Additionally, all students must earn at least 50 Minga points, along with meeting other criteria related to grades and attendance, in order to apply for Spring Exam exemptions.
DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME
Daylight Saving Time is March 9th. Be sure to set your clocks forward one hour.
SPRING BREAK!!!
Spring Break is approaching. It will take place from March 17th to March 21st. All school campuses and offices will be closed during this period. We wish everyone a safe and restful Spring Break!
