Pleasant Valley Elementary School 2024-25
Dear PV Families,
What a fantastic first week of school! Our building was buzzing with excitement and joy, thanks to our amazing staff who welcomed our students back in grand fashion. A special thanks to our PTO for treating our staff to lunch and treats, as well as providing our students with popsicles with the Principal.
We successfully held our first fire drill on Thursday, August 29th, and I couldn't be prouder of our students for their excellent behavior during the drill. Below, you can enjoy some pictures capturing the highlights of our first week.
We have an exciting lineup of activities and events coming up at our school, so please be sure to read through to the end of the newsletter for important announcements, upcoming events, and essential links, including our PTO website, volunteer opportunities at PV, job openings in South Windsor, a message from our nurses, and more.

GENTLE REMINDERS
End of Day Pick Up Process/Car Rider Tags
If you would like to pick your child up at dismissal time, please email both Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Strom or call the office at 860-610-0291 NO LATER THAN 2:00 PM to let us know. We will not be able to accommodate requests that come in after 2:00 PM.
Each family has been assigned a unique car rider tag number for the 2024-2025 school year. All tags were sent home on the first day of school. Please discard all previous tags, as they are no longer valid.
Attendance
If your child is going to be absent, please log in to your Parent Portal and fill out the Attendance Monitor prior to the start of the school day. It is very important that the office be aware of your child's absence. Attendance Monitor Instructions can be found under Important Links, below.
If you would like to pick your child up early, please email both Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Strom or call the office at 860-610-0291.
Dropping Off Items for Your Student
If you need to drop off items for your child during the school day, you will be asked to leave them in the vestibule outside the main office. Please be sure to write your child's name and teacher's name on the items and notify your teacher via SeeSaw that they have been dropped off.
