From Mrs. Rhodes
As we approach Thanksgiving, I am filled with gratitude for the incredible community we share here at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School. This season reminds us to pause and reflect on the countless blessings God has bestowed upon us—our families, friends, faith, and the joy of being part of such a vibrant and supportive school family.
Our school thrives because of the partnership between parents, teachers, and parish members, all working together to nurture our students' minds, hearts, and souls. Thank you for entrusting us with your children and allowing us to guide them on their educational and spiritual journey.
This Thanksgiving, let us remember the words of St. Paul:
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
In the spirit of thanksgiving, I invite you to join us in prayer for those who may be struggling during this time—families in need, the lonely, and all who long for comfort and peace. Let us also pray for continued blessings on our school as we strive to live out our mission of faith, service, and academic excellence.
May your Thanksgiving be filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments with your loved ones. Know that you are in our prayers as we thank God for the gift of you and your family.
Wishing you and your family a blessed and joyful Thanksgiving!
Strength in Surrender,
Kathy Rhodes

Holy Day of Obligation
MONDAY, DECEMBER 9, A HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION – After consultation with the Holy See, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has announced that whenever the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary is transferred from Sunday, December 8 to Monday, December 9, it remains a holy day of obligation, beginning this year. This is a change of past practice, whereby the obligation to attend Mass was previously lifted with the transfer of the solemnity from Sunday to Monday. The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception has always been transferred to Monday when December 8 has fallen on a Sunday. But from now on, the transfer includes the obligation of the faithful to assist at Mass. The Roman Catholic Church in the United States is dedicated to the patronage of Mary under the title of her Immaculate Conception. The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception is therefore the patronal feast of the U.S. Church.
