May/End of Year 2025
Approaching the end to another great school year!
Important Family Conversation: Final Exams
Take time in the coming days to speak as a family about ending the school year strong!
Final exams are about two weeks away. Take note of the highlights below. Procedures are similar to semester one exams.
What are final exams?
Finals are cumulative exams that provide students an opportunity to demonstrate mastery in a course
Final exams may be a written exam, essay, performance assessment, or project that are part of standards and skills for the course
What is the goal of final exams?
Final exams are given so that students may demonstrate growth and mastery in the given subject area
Who takes final exams?
- Students who have not yet demonstrated mastery of content by earning a grade of less than an A- (90%) by 20 May 2025
- Exceptions are included in this expectation, to include concurrent enrollment, credit recovery, and AP courses (individual teachers will communicate expectation)
How have finals changed from previous years?
- Final grades are now due the day before finals, not prior to full-school review days: many classes need to host classes up to final exams to provide instruction on needed topics of the semester
- Students need to check into all classes if they are on campus, even if they do not have to take the final exam in a particular class: they can receive a special pass to go to the commons after checking in
- Students stay on campus during final exams: students may not leave campus during the school day unless they have a free period
- Students in grades nine-eleven that are enrolled in twelfth grade classes must attend after senior's last day: finals for grade levels outside of seniors are expected to attend and engage in classes up to the last day of classes
When are grades due?
- Staff will submit final semester two grades on 27 May 2025 no later than 2:00 pm
Scorpions Stay Committed to Excellence!

Girls' soccer completed their community service project on 17 April. They collected thirty six books and distributed them to sixteen readers in the first through fifth grades at the Children's Literacy Center's Banning Lewis Ranch tutoring site. There, students are paired with adult volunteers for professional one-on-one instruction at no cost. A captain, a player and a manager assisted each student in choosing a book to take home and keep.
