Tomorrow is an Early Release Day. Students in 1st-5th grade will be dismissed at 1:40 pm.
DuJardin is hosting a Lunch with a Loved One(s) event on Thursday, May 23, 2024, during the lunch period. Bring a picnic lunch and blanket for you and your child(ren) to eat OUTSIDE on school grounds. Come a little early to pick a spot and then meet your children by the back doors of the building. Click here to RSVP for this event.
Students will continue with MAP testing this week. We are excited for students to take the assessment and demonstrate the growth that they have made since the start of the school year. We ask students to DO their BEST and FORGET the REST.
Portfolio Night (Open House) is next week: DuJardin will be hosting Portfolio Night on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm. This is an open house type event where families are able to come at any time. Feel free to stay 5 minutes or the entire night. The goal of the event is to provide an opportunities for families to visit the school and celebrate the successes from the 2023-2024 school year.
Next Friday is a NOON dismissal for students in first - fifth grade. Kindergarten students will have a normal AM & PM schedule. Why a Noon Dismissal? There was a noon dismissal scheduled for Friday, January 12th, which was cancelled due to the school district being closed for inclement weather.
Community, Advocacy, Resilience, Engagement and Support (CARES): Bloomingdale School District 13 has launched an innovative mental health initiative to provide and improve access to quality mental health services throughout the community. Click here for more information and a QR code to sign up for services.
Be Mindful of our Neighbors: We ask that parents are respectful of our neighbors and not block driveways when parking on Euclid Ct or other streets that are next to DuJardin. If you are waiting in the car line along Euclid Ave, please leave space for our neighbors to enter or exit their driveways. As a reminder, there is no LEFT TURN out of the DuJardin parking lot at arrival or dismissal.
Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Caring

Message From Miss Stevens
March 7, 2024
Dear Families,
Child abuse curriculum lessons, otherwise known as the state mandated Erinβs Law, will once again be conducted in all K-5 classrooms to educate students on safe and unsafe touches, safe and unsafe secrets, and how to get away and tell a trusted adult. Lessons will teach children how to recognize child abuse, equip them with skills to reduce their vulnerability, and encourage them to report abuse. District 13 uses a curriculum entitled Kids In The Know that focuses on teaching the above mentioned skills. The classroom lessons will be conducted beginning the week of March 18th through May.
As a parent, I would encourage you to discuss these subjects with your child. You may preview the Kids In The Know curriculum, by age level, by going to Kids In The Know . If you would rather not have your child participate in this instruction, please put your request in writing and send it to the school office at the attention of Ms. Stevens. If you have any questions about this or any other related topic, please do not hesitate to call me at 630-671-5237.
Sincerely,
Julia Stevens, LSW
DuJardin Elementary School Social Worker
