Intermediate Newsletter

As we reflect on the many things for which we are thankful, we want to take this opportunity to share just a few of them with you: We are thankful for our students who come to school every day ready to learn - they give us all a daily reminder of what is important and why we are here. We are thankful for the support of the parents who create an outstanding partnership for our students. We are thankful for our teachers, assistants, nurses, bus drivers, secretaries, lunchroom ladies, support staff, therapists, maintenance, and administrators who really care about student achievement and have the best interests of our students at heart. We are also thankful for our volunteers who contribute so much to our school.

The world we live in can be difficult and challenging at times. We see dedicated and tireless individuals going above and beyond to make sure that great things happen in our school. They do make a difference for the students here at Spring Hill Intermediate!

Most importantly, we are thankful for the parents and families that keep faith in us. They continue to share their most valuable possession with us. We appreciate all that you do to partner in your child's education, safety and well-being. For these things, we are ever so thankful.

I would like to wish all of you and your families a happy, healthy and relaxing Thanksgiving Season.

The Intermediate campus won the Best Attendance Award Trophy for the month of August & September! Keep up the good attendance Spring Hill Intermediate!!!

Each month, students' names with perfect attendance will be placed into a drawing to be a Burger King and Queen! Each King and Queen will receive a full family meal from Burger King, and of course, a crown to wear. 👑 The first drawing will be October 4th! All students who has perfect attendance for this time period will receive a Burger King ice cream coupon as well! Thank you to Burger King for sponsoring our Perfect Attendance goals!

Spring Hill PTA is seeking volunteers to serve on various standing committees throughout the 2024-2025 school year. We are seeking volunteers who want to have FUN serving together while making a difference for Spring Hill students, teacher, staff and families. One of our most important goals for our campus is to close achievement gaps, make sure that our students are performing on grade level and to provide challenging instruction . Part of our plan for academic success this year will include W.I.N. time. W.I.N. time is spent every day addressing each student's individual targeted instruction. Kudos to our teachers and staff for meeting each of our students' individual needs!

The 88th Texas Legislative session passed H.B. 114 and adds the following to the Texas Education Code:

...a student SHALL be removed from class and PLACED IN A DISCIPLINARY ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION PROGRAM... if the student: possess, uses, sells, gives, or delivers to another person an e-cigarette within 300 feet of school property...or while attending a school-sponsored or school related activity on or off school property.

With the passage of this new legislation the student code of conduct is updated to make vaping violations result in removal from campus and placement at a disciplinary alternative education program (DAEP) on the first offense. The legislation also clarifies that vaping at school sponsored events off of campus, including district vehicles, will result in a DAEP placement.

Parents, please discuss with your child both the negative effects of using a vape or e-cigarette and the consequences of possessing a vape or e-cigarette on campus or campus sponsored events.
