Hello Mustang Families!!
I hope everyone is having a fabulous summer break!!! Here at DMS, we are under construction! When construction is completed, we will have new ACs, a new digital marquee, a new sidewalk out front so students can safely walk to the YMCA, a freshly paved bus loop, AND a new 6th-grade parent pick-up and drop-off loop, with sidewalks!!! In the meantime, we are a little bit of a mess. (see pictures below).
I would like to introduce our new Mustangs to Leo, our Mustang therapy dog! Leo is a certified therapy dog that makes appearances at DMS. Please take a minute to read the parent letter about Leo and his certifications. Therapy Dog Parent Letter
The 2024-2025 school year is going to be a fun-filled year! We are making great gains in academic achievement and will continue to strive for mastery in all content areas so our students are set up for success in high school and beyond. In order to do this, we need our students here, on campus, every day! Our attendance goal for next year is a 99% campus attendance rate! We will leverage technology to enhance our learning but will not rely on technology 100% of the time. We utilize a hands-on learning approach and students will need to be present to learn to their highest potential. We believe in the Work Hard, Play Hard mantra so I created a list that identifies all of our long weekends and holidays so you can plan fun travel adventures and vacations that will optimize your student's time on campus! #workhardplayhard
Our core teachers worked together to create a comprehensive school supply list for the upcoming year. For anyone that is interested, the tax-free weekend this year is August 9th-11th :) Please see the grade-level specific school supply lists below:

We have tentative dates for Mustang Camp and Meet the Teacher Night! All incoming 6th grade students are invited to attend Mustang Camp on August 6th from 9:00am-11:00am. Meet the Teacher Night is scheduled for August 7th from 5pm-7pm. Please save these dates!! In the event our construction is not completed on time, I will send out updated event dates. We are looking forward to seeing everyone soon!!!!
