Weekly Recreation Reminders
Recreation Program Deadlines for Monday, November 25th
McFarland School District Families,
Happy Friday! Before you dive into the weekend, let’s tackle registering for any upcoming recreation programs —because fun plans are even better when they’re locked in!
Register for the following programs by Monday, November 25th:
- 6th-12th Grade Session I Spartan Performance Training - please note that our 6th-8th grade Session I program is currently full, but still have space for this age group in Session II (which is also open for registration at this time!) We still have plenty of room for our 9th-12th graders in Session I!
- Session III Adult Community Woodworking (Ages 18+)
Register for the following programs by Monday, December 2nd:
- 1st & 2nd Grade Boys & Girls Skills And Drills Basketball Programs - Looking for some more volunteer coaches for this program who will work with MRAP staff to provide instruction to our littles on Saturday mornings in January and February. Please indicate your willingness to coach while registering your child.

McFarland residents, it's time to light up the season! Show off your holiday spirit by decorating the exterior of your home for a chance to win fun prizes in our FREE Holiday Light Fight Home Decorating Competition!
Here's how it works:
- Register your home by 11:59 PM on Monday, December 9th, 2024 - One registration per household.
- Have your home decorated by Thursday, December 12th for voting to begin.
- Online voting will run from December 13th - January 1st, 2025, and all McFarland residents are encouraged to vote for their favorite home!
What to expect:
- On December 13th, we'll post a list and map of participating homes on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/ McFarlandRAP.
- Enjoy walking or driving through McFarland to view the decorated homes and vote using the online form (link to the form will be posted on Facebook).
- Important for decorators: Please ensure your display is lit nightly from December 13th to January 1st so everyone has a chance to enjoy your hard work!
- The top three homes with the most votes will win some AWESOME prizes from local businesses!

Start your day off right with our FREE Morning Walk program!
Join us for a peaceful and energizing indoor morning walk at McFarland High School this winter!
The Morning Walk program will run Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays, November 19th-March 13th, on days that school is in session, 6:00-7:15AM at McFarland High School.
Please check in at the Angie O'Donnell Aquatic Center before starting your walk
Participants may park in the back parking lot of McFarland High School (6204 Exchange St. McFarland, WI) and use door P to enter the building. The Aquatic Center is located to your left after you enter the building. Please use the "self sign-in station" at the pool to register for the day (there is no fee associated with this program).
After signing in, participants are free to head north down the pool/PAC hallway to access the "B-gym hallway loop" and start their walk. Walking is permitted around the b-gym hallway (not in the gym itself). Pool staff can assist you with any questions you may have.
Running is not allowed
10 laps around the b-gym hallway is approximately 1 mile
Participants are highly encouraged to walk with a buddy for safety
If any first aid is needed, please come to the pool for assistance
2025 Big10 5th-8th Grade Co-Ed Volleyball - Register by December 19th!
Get ready to serve up some fun with the Big10 Volleyball League! Designed for young athletes in grades 5-8, this program focuses on learning skills, building confidence, and competing against players of similar skill levels. Modified rules ensure success for all, making this a great opportunity for players of any experience level!
- Season Dates: January 16th - March 9th, 2025
- Sunday Tournaments: February 9th, 16th, 23rd, March 2nd & 9th (approx. 12-4 PM)
- Fee: $80 (Resident) / $104 (Non-Resident) - includes a t-shirt
- Practice Times: Varies by grade level, check MRAPNews.com for full program details
- Registration Deadline: 11:59 PM on December 19th, 2024
- Parent Coaches Needed: Volunteer during registration! A mandatory virtual coach meeting will be held at 5:45 PM on Wednesday, January 8th, 2025.

Register by Monday, November 25th for our upcoming Adult Woodworking class!
Adult Community Woodworking is for adults 18+ and introduces participants to traditional woodworking equipment and techniques in a self-paced format. Learn to use portable power tools and industrial woodworking machinery while building your skills in areas like sawing, sanding, and assembly. Choose your own project and provide your own safety glasses and materials (with optional instructor assistance).
Session III Class Information:
- Dates: Thursdays, December 5th, 2024-January 30th, 2025
- Time: 6:00-9:00PM each Thursday
- Location: McFarland High School – Woods shop
- Fee: Residents: $155.00 / Non-Residents: $201.50 (plus additional costs for materials – varies based on project, selected by participant)
- Registration Deadline: 11:59PM November 25th, 2024

Youth Open Gym
