Family Bulletin
Good evening, Evergreen families!
We had so much fun at our literacy event last night! Thank you to those of you who were able to come join us! As we move into a week full of being thankful for our Evergreen community, I would like to remind you we have our Turkey Trot on Wednesday, which is also an early release day. Students will be released at 12:30 pm for the long weekend. There is no school on Thursday and Friday of next week in honor of Thanksgiving.
The Turkey Trot will start at 9:10 am with 1st grade runners! It will continue with a race for each grade level with the last race at 10:10 am. The city will close the roads near 8:50 am so if you would like to join us for the fun event, please come get a parking spot early!
Our word of the month for November is self-control. Our students are demonstrating different forms of self-control such as setting academic goals and working diligently toward them as well as demonstrating self-control when working through emotions and physical responses to their emotions. We will be celebrating one student from every classroom at our next Wildcat Assembly for their demonstration of self-control.
After school volleyball for 3rd and 4th grade students is on Tuesdays for 3rd grade students and Thursdays for 4th grade students! Students must complete a registration form to stay after school for volleyball.
Other after school activities are choir on Thursday mornings and our Acceleration Team on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons. There is no transportation for our Acceleration Team in the afternoon.
Our goals are improving reading skills and attendance! Two ways you can help are reading time at home daily and prioritizing school attendance.
Thank you for being a partner with us in your students' learning! Have a wonderful “Wildcat” weekend!!
