Deal will continue to offer an in-person, Summer Math Acceleration Camp (SMAC) and an Online Asynchronous Math Course (Zearn) for our current 6th and 7th graders during July of 2025 (July 7 - July 31; 8:45 am - 12:00 noon).

SMAC Math 7

This intensive course is for 6th graders currently taking Math 6 who become eligible based on the iReady MOY and EOY Assessment. Students who successfully complete this in-person course and the final assessment will be placed in Math 8 in the Fall of the 2025 - 2026 school year.

Zearn 7

This online asynchronous course is for 6th graders currently taking Math 6. Only students who qualify based on their MOY i-Ready score will become eligible. Students who successfully complete the course and the final assessment will be placed in Math 8 in the Fall of the 2025 - 2026 school year

SMAC Math 8

This intensive course is for 6th & 7th graders currently taking Math 7 who become eligible based on the MOY and EOY iReady Assessment. Students who successfully complete this in-person course and the final assessment will be placed in Algebra I in the Fall of the 2025 - 2026 school year.

Zearn 8

This online asynchronous course is for 6th or 7th graders currently taking Math 7. Only students who qualify based on their MOY i-Ready score are eligible. Students who successfully complete the course and the final assessment will be placed in Algebra I in the Fall of the 2025 - 2026 school year.

• Work from the first half of the Term is due by the midpoint.
• Work from the second half of the Term is due the last day of the Term.
• The grade for late assignment submitted following an unexcused absence will be reduced by one (1) letter grade.

Term 2:

• First half late/make-up work is due December 9, 2024.
• Second half late/make-up work is due January 24, 2024.

• Assignments with a grade of D+ (69%) or lower may be retaken ONE TIME only.
• The retake must happen before the late/make-up work deadline.
• The highest grade possible on the retake is a C (76%).
• RCTs are an exception: all may be retaken for full credit.

Hey Team Bridgetown Families! I hope you had a wonderful Holiday break. The i-Ready MOY is approaching 😈. This week in Math 6, students will divide decimals using standard algorithm. The steps are shared in the picture. In Math 7, students will review for RCT #4 - Unit 4: Proportional Relationships & Percents. Students will have a Pear Practice & a Paper review to prepare. Students can also review practice problems in the online text, Canvas slides (under Modules), Family Resource link (on Canvas homepage), and Khan Academy.

Grading Expectations for Late Assignments:

Assignments that are submitted late (after the due date) will be graded after all assignments that are submitted on time. While assignments are updated daily/weekly, late assignments are not required to be updated until the end of the Term. To ensure accuracy of grading in Aspen, all assignments should be submitted on time.

Greetings Team Bridgetown! This week we will be doing the Quill diagnostic. Quill is an online platform that we will be integrating into classes in the new year. It is designed to help students improve their writing and grammar skills through interactive exercises with instant feedback.

Book Projects: Students should be reading their books and working on their projects using their calendars that they created during class last week. The last day for teacher feedback for the project is January 3.

Hi Team Bridgetown,

This week in science, students will explore the geology of Mars, with a focus on Gale Crater. They will also work on a solar system slideshow as classwork, selecting a planet of their choice and gathering key information to deepen their understanding.

There will not be a roots quiz this week, as we are preparing for the Roots summative assessment scheduled for following week. Students in need of to making up any roots quizzes can do so on January 3rd or during Academic Advisory.I hope you are enjoying (or have enjoyed) a wonderful winter break!

I hope all Team Bridgetown families have a happy and restful winter break and come back refreshed in the new year! When we return, we will begin our Unit 4: South and Southeast Asia. Students will create political and physical maps of the region before building vocabulary terms and analyzing thematic maps of climate, culture, language, religion, etc. Throughout the week students will use their maps and other online resources in Canvas-Modules to prepare for the “SSEA Map Quiz” on Thursday, January 9. ..

The library orientations have completed for all students! Most students have now checked out at least one book from the library! 6th grade students should be almost ready to return their books if they haven't already. Notices will go out next week for 6th students who have overdue materials and over the following two weeks for 7th and 8th graders.

Students are able to see their current loans by accessing their library accounts through the Clever app called "Destiny Discover". They can follow the process below to see items that they have checked out:

1. Log into Clever (clever.com/in/dcpsk12)

2. Search "Destiny Discover" or navigate to the Library Resources section and click on the icon.

3. Click on the "My Stuff" link at the top of the screen to see any items that are checked out.

4. Students who have lost materials or see items that may be linked to their account by mistake should speak with Mr. Reichlen.

There are no fines or penalties for lost materials. Donations of hard cover titles of middle school-age-appropriate works in good condition are always accepted if families are able to replace lost materials.

When to visit:

Library Hours 8:15am-3:45pm daily.

•With permission from grade level admin – Students can come from 8:15 – 8:35am

(Mr. Reichlen must be present).

•Recess visits – You must get a pass from Mr. Reichlen or Ms. Gathers.

•No pass, no entry.

•After school – If Mr. Reichlen is here, you can come.
